The Tiger Woods saga

Rory is on his heels??? Rory can't even walk on his heels!

Just for fun, who finishes higher this weekend? Spieth or Woods?

Just for fun, we've already established Tiger is a shell of his former self so it bears little as to best ever if Spieth beats Woods this week.

Tiger hasn't won a major since losing his 54 hole lead at the PGA in 2009 to Y.E. Yang. After someone finally came down the stretch and took it away from him, he hasn't been quite the same. It took a player who wasn't intimidated like Love, Lehman, Singh. Els, Garcia, Montgomerie, Goosen, Bjorn, etc. were. He may win more, and he may never. Only time will tell. I don't count him out. Talent tends to resurface, but who knows? Duval couldn't get it back.

Yea, his numerous injuries have nothing to do with it.

I will not argue that Spieth is or will be better than Tiger. Maybe, maybe not. That bar is set awfully high, and Spieth has many more young competitors who are not easily intimidated, like Davis Love, Tom Lehman, Colin Montgomerie, and some of the other top golfers of the Tiger era were.

In Spieth's defense, he has played well a lot longer than 4 months.

2013: 23 tournaments.. 4 Top 2..9 Top 10..$3.9 million
2014: 27 tournaments.. 2 Top 2.. 8 Top 10..$4.3 million
2015: 18 tournaments.. 7 Top 2.. 11 Top 10..$ 8.7 million

Spieth had one career PGA win in 2013 heading into April. Your little stats aren't even as good as Phil's stats while he was riding Tiger's coattails.

My "little stats" were merely an answer to a post saying that Spieth had only played well for 4 months.

Because those those types of performances can be sustained, which is why he continued to play with that injury?
Y.E. Yang did more damage to his psyche than injuries did to his body. I find that his injuries bother him a lot more when he starts off poorly.

Congrats. A lot of dumb statements are made on this board, but you just made a top 5% of all time dumb post

You two present no argument at all. It's really pathetic, you can't even defend your stance.

I already did. You've brought nothing to the table except saying Spieth is good. He hasn't done anything remotely Tiger-esque yet and you've yet to prove that he has.

Shooting 19 under at Augusta on a harder course and having more wins than tiger at his age...

And Spieth can thank Tiger for making the AJGA and other amateur levels so much stronger, making it possible to turn pro earlier. Not to mention the money Tiger brought the PGA and golf in general to help Spieth get all those sponsor exemptions to get his pro career started.

Re course is harder. It's 7400+ yards today vurses 6900 when tiger won in 97. That much harder if you have knowledge of golf.

If you have knowledge of the changes in the club and ball technology in addition to course management technology, you'd know the distance is a moot point

Difficulty is relative to equipment and conditions. There were plenty of times when the winning number was in the 280s under the old set up.
