The Tiger Woods saga

Because a lot of people do not feel that just because you are a celebrity, you owe an explanation for anything that happens in your personal life. At this point, without any hard evidence and without police scrutiny, which there doesn't really appear to be, this issue rests with a man and his wife. Period

so he can have it both ways? use his rep as a good family man to fill his pockets, but then say his family life is no one elses business whenever it suits him?

With the neighbors statements about the incident. The cops have no probable cause to subpoena anything medically related. Case closed.

Source ESPN.

No proof. He's a family man. Why must we do this as a country?

envy. plain and simple. Like I said when this whole thing began. People have been looking for him to have a flaw for years now. We feed off the failures, or shortcomings of others. Its really sad.

Or is it better put that many are intrigued, watching the people who have been put on a pedestal fall back to earth?

This rings much truer to me, Tiger has become a phenomenon over the years. He and the people around him have carefully crafted an image of him and sold it to the public. We are a nation intrigued by stars. They are marketed as superheros and nothing makes for a better story than watching a hero fail. We may not like it necessarily but we are very intrigued by the story itself.

This just in: Tiger Woods is HUMAN!

omg....

I could have gone the rest of my life not hearing about who Tiger was sleeping with, or how hammered John Daley gets. Furthermore, I could go on to not want to hear about Kobe cheating on his wife, Jordan's trouble at the Casino, or how Sir Charles pisses away his fortune. It doesnt effect me. I know it is impossible to live in such a bubble, but I'd venture to say, many of you are like me. We'd rather watch them on their feild of play, and enjoy them for what they are. Entertainers.

I agree though I really don't watch or care for golf. Let's not forget that there are many people out there who believe a good tragic comedy is just as entertaining.

I don't care who Tiger sleeps with, if his wife finds out about it and tries to knock his head off with a sand wedge I must admit I can see the humor in that.

Maybe it's a good thing that we are reminded every now and then not to idolize those we see on the field of play too much, very often they are simply not very good people. Not saying this holds true for Tiger just that we need to remember that being an athlete is secondary, being a good person is much more important.

I watched a guy getting slapped and pushed around by his girlfriend one night outside a club, apparently she found out he had been cheating on her. Watching him being pummeled by this woman much smaller than him, all the while apologizing was rather funny. I can imagine the same scenario playing out with Tiger and his wife, are you telling me you wouldn't have found a little humor in that scenario as well? If not could it be because you have some type of emotional attachment to Tiger as a fan?

there isn't a guy (outside of jordan) who has benefited more from his clean cut public image as tiger. payback's a *****.

Pretty sure the police have a duty to invistigate a potential domestic abuse situation. There is certainly evidence that would point that way.

Say the situation was reversed and the cops showed up with his wife laying in the street bloodied up and Tiger holding a 9I. People would be coming out of the woodwork calling for an investigation.

If they are investigating an accident and the circumstances surrounding it why wouldn't he be compelled to talk to police? It is a serious question, I am no expert in matters of law but one would think there is good reason to cooperate with a police investigation.

The 4th Ammendment? Maybe the 5th?

"Good reason" doesn't really compel you to give up those rights.

I mean if there is nothing to hide and he is being treated badly by the media etc. My point is this would have gone away if there was no meat on the bone. He chose the route he is on, he put himself in the position he is in now. It comes with the territory of being a celebrity and he has to expect that he will be under scrutiny because of it.

Some people want to pretend he is being treated unfairly, my point is that he is a celebrity, this is just one of the trade offs of receiving all the benefits of being a star.

Has there ever been a more overanalyzed, low speed, one car accident?
"The investigation has determined that Mr. Woods is at fault in the crash."
Glad to hear that the fire hydrant was fully exonerated.
