If you weren't aware, UGA was ranked #1 last year in pass defense. Very impressive. But then I decided to do a little more research.

These are the offensive passing rankings of the teams they played against last season.

ULM - 82
Vandy -111
South Carolina - 84
Southern - FCS?
Alabama - 62
Tennessee -92
Missouri - 112
Florida - 87
Kentucky - 79
Auburn - 110
Georgia Southern -127
Georgia Tech - 123

UGA fans seem somewhat worried about their defensive line, but they are optimistic about their secondary. I'm sorry UGA fans, but Josh Dobbs (who is a below average passer) lighting up your defense with 300+ yards passing is more indicative of the true capabilities of your passing defense, rather than a #1 ranked stat based on the worst competition possible. With UGA's loss of talent in the trenches, and an overhyped secondary, I expect UGA to have a slightly more difficult time on defense than they would expect.

Well done Persian. Devil is often in the details. Best passing offense they faced was Bama? The 62nd ranked passing offense in the country? Wow.

They played one average passing team (Alabama), a bunch of awful passing teams, and the last two teams they played literally don't even pass the ball.

Southern ranked 44th in the FCS in passing ypg. They were arguably the second best passing offense UGA faced last year.

Bama was leading 38 to 3 with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd. Raining sideways, we chose to run clock and shut it down..

Tennessee has a short memory on Bama's ability to throw the ball when they decide.

Assuming the stat in earlier post is correct you guys were 62nd in passing. I think that is clearly about as average as it gets wouldn't you say?

Not disputing that you completed some passes on our corners. They were great plays too. But finishing 62nd out of 129 fbs teams is by definition average.

That's because you keep confusing when we throw to how well we throw.

We had this little ole running back who ran for over 2300 yards, 25 TDs. Impressive enough to win the Heisman, Doak Walker, Maxwell, Walter Camp, to name a few. It's called a balanced offense. You know, pick your poison.

Michigan State wanted to crowd the line, take away Mr. Henry. OK, 38 to 0 later, we threw it around when we wanted.

NC game was won by Jacob Coker through the air to Howard and company.

Our passing/running balance says nothing about being average. Not talent or scheme. It says a lot about the poison picked and the different ways Bama's multiple offense can serve it.

Lol I get it. Same can be said about our passing game. Why pass when you can run it at will.

I guess a better question would be why a Bama fan needs to come to a UT fan page and get defensive when it's pointed out that the Bama passing game is the definition of average. You are what your numbers say you are.

Right. Number one team in the nation.

That is what your numbers say, isn't it?

Yep.. you guys won it all. That's why I don't understand your need to defend your team or come to our page and point out what everyone already knows.

Then, my friend, you have just missed the whole dynamic point of social media.

Plus and this is very important, nothing average about Bama's passing game. You see, point, counterpoint.

Man get outta here with that crap. Bama's passing game was very much average according to the numbers. Don't come in here and act like they could throw the ball up and down the field on EVERYBODY last year
