The U vs FSU game thread

People like Lou Holtz and Al Davis amaze me. It's like they refuse to change or something. At one point, they are the best in the business and before you know it.... they are clueless.

Thoughts so far:

Both teams look like good 8 win teams. Prior to watching this game I thought Randy Shannon would get fired. No one knows the extent of the QB injury yet, and if it is bad he may still get fired.

You know Cannon Smith and Taylor Cook feel stupid at this point.

The Miami schedule is after this:
September 17 No. 15 Georgia Tech probably loss
September 26 at No. 7 Virginia Tech probably loss
October 3 No. 3 Oklahoma Who knows with Bradford out?
October 10 Florida A&M definite win
October 17 at UCF almost definite win
October 24 Clemson 50/50
October 31 at Wake Forest 50/50
November 7 Virginia definite win
November 14 at No. 21 North Carolina 50/50
Before ending with two gimme wins over Duke and South Florida.

Now the reason I am posting here instead of "Around the NCAA" where the mods take many of my threads to die is because I am watching this game as it impacts TN football.

Coach Gran mainly recruits studs in Florida and many of the guys he wants us to get after are choosing between us and either Miami or FSU. If Miami implodes with a serious QB injury and has a horrid year while we win 9, it helps us get some of those guys, especially the ones like Arie Kouandjio who are from out of state and just want to get PT and win in a high profile program.

We want FSU leans Jeff Luc and Lamarcus Joyner. Ideally for us both of these teams have at least 3 losses this year and look further from championship level football than we do.

FSU rest of the way will crush Jacksonville State on the 9/12 at home,
then they have on the 19th an away game at BYU
I really think they could lose that game, and I really think Coach O could get a lot of mileage out of that loss.

Then 9/26 they beat USF at home.

Then 10/3 they beat BC on the road.

10/10 they have GT at home. We are not competing with GT for any big recruits and we have such dramatically different styles on offense (and their style sucks for the NFL) that we should be cheering for the yellow jackets.

10/22 they play UNC in a Thursday night game on the road. We are going against Butch Davis for some UNC kids, but it would be nice for FSU to lose this one as well. Take them out of BCS talk.

10/31 they play the team SC beat 7-3 last thursday, NC State.

11/7 they have Clemson

11/14 Wake Forest on the road.

11/21 Maryland at home

11/28 the Thanksgiving game we all watch every year, FSU versus Florida. They are playing on the road.

We want FSU to lose to BYU, GT and another ACC team this year. We want Miami to have 4 losses. If that happens it helps the recruiting for the University of Tennessee a great deal!

Whining? How so? And should a fan of Tennessee and Duke really be calling out anyone?

By continuing to say what you said below over and over, what is that the 10th time? Get over it, its just an acc game.

Well it was on the ground with a second left so the refs suck. Maybe they should have done a replay of the clock. They do it for everything else.

I guess FSU will "Ponder" that last play the rest of the season. :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Wow. 10 really? It's no wonder the economy is so bad. People confuse two or three times with 10. Not like I was responding to anyone or anything.

Get over yourself. You're making it sound like I'm freaking out. I am just calling it like I see it.

She was obviously using hyperbole. Speaking of confusion, the 'Noles had at least 6 chances, inside the 5 yard line. And that's why any blame on the clock guy is very whiny.

I get it. Still should have had another play. I picked Miami to win for the pick it contest. I just hate seeing a bunch of thugs win.

Actually it may have been only 5 attempts inside the 5. Either way, they probably would have done the same with 1 second that they did the few times before.

Robbed insinuates that something they had was taken from them. One second wasn't going to win them the game, so I don't see what they were robbed of.

Maybe so but that shouldn't be for the refs to decide. With that thinking, the Bills shouldn't have had to kick off to the Titans in the music city miracle. The Titans had all game to win. They shouldn't need a miracle return like that to win. I just think FSU should have got another throw and someone else posted that they saw what I saw. I wasn't the only one to see it. One second makes a huge difference. Like I said... the Ravens picked up the game winning first down on a delay of game. If the refs throw that flag, it doesn't happen.

But I'm guessing your thinking is.... the Titans fumbled it away in the red zone and had all game to win it.

We can agree to disagree. One second can be huge in any game.

This is where they are going to hit their heads looking at the film, how are you so close and get multiple chances to get a TD and not get it? I thought for sure it was over after the pass interference call.

How do you know that? One seconds give them another play. You know for a fact they don't score a touchdown? The Giants had three plays to pick up a first down and it took a freak play on like 4th and 17 or something to get it. They should have lost more yards based off the first three plays if you're going by what happened previously.

That plus the offensive pass interference no call. It's a wash.

11? :eek:lol:

How about the push-off that wasn't called committed by the fsu guy?

You do realize I am debating with someone about it? It's not like I am just repeating it over and over for no reason. How else would like me to describe it? Should I just quit and say okay, you're right? I see.

I will repeat myself again... I now see why the economy is the way it is. A bunch of quitters. Haha.

Actually, this makes your 10th post about they should have had one second left.
