Who says Manning wants to coach?? I have to go with Tony Dungy on this one, Peyton has no control of player perfomance as a coach, mistakes would drive him up the wall. I look for him to go into a Administration role with a NFL team, or the booth.

I'm sure the treatment of Fulmer was observed too. I mean afterall, those two are friends. Peyton would'nt want this job.

And, to add insult to injury, I'm sure Tee and Fulmer are friends!! Maybe, just maybe, that was his reason for not coming back.

See, the problem with a lunatic fanbase is this.....when fans, who probably are not former students, boosters, or even rarely go to games, attack one, and his family personally, it doesn't look good. I see it like this....if Tennessee has 3 million fans for example, and 70% are good fans, that leaves 900,000 idiots....unfortunatley, it seems is if the University is all about catering to the 900,000 idiots..(Kiffen, Gruden attempt, Martin attempt, etc, etc..). And, I will say this, I dont think a lot of people on this board even remember Tennessee before the 90's and early 2000's....we had a good run, before that mediocrity was the norm. It was fine then, why not now? Why?? Because some people don't know how to handle winning.....we had a nice 15 years...before that we hadnt dominated college football since the 40's and a little in the 50's. WTF??? True fans stand behind their team no matter what....Good times, Bad times....the good times will be back....that I assure you. Learn to appreciate it!!

I would expect manning to take a few years off to enjoy the family and then show up on television. He's a bit of a ham and enjoys celebrity. It makes sense.

Good call...Can totally see him going the Elway or Ozzie Newsome route to be honest...
