they both have sucked and one feeds off each other. Yes, our transition d was awful, particularly early tonight, yet we weren't even running. we were walking around on offense, throwing up bs, and they were beating us back down the court. Like we were sleep walking.
We came out again with no intensity or plan. One fg the last 6 minutes sucks. Especially when you called a timeout after hitting a big one.

Not surprising that our tansition defense is so bad because if I had to guess, I'd guess we are last in the conference in fast break points scored too.

I don't think so because they give each other the silent treatment on the defensive end when defending picks

I think a certain somebody thinks he's Marshall Henderson. The difference is that certain somebody has a first team all conference big man to look for and a certain someone won't do it, especially in crunch time. It's been bad, but it's gotten worse as the season has worn on.

It doesn't inspire great defensive effort, see Josh Richardson's post game comments.

A part of it is the overall lack of aggression. We don't attack on either end. We don't attack the rim. We don't protect the rim. We don't run. We dont stop the run. We don't attack presses or zones. They attack us. We, as defenders, don't attack. We don't take on picks aggressively. We silently let them pick us apart.
We stand around on offense, mizzou gets the ball, and all of a sudden, they are moving at a speed an aggression at our basket that is different than the nonchalant and confused bs we put out there on both ends.

What did he say? We are never good when we stand and watch, and we stood and watched McRae go for 31.

Agree. We are about as aggressive as a baby seal.

1. The decision to go with Antonio Barton over Darius Thompson with 2:30 to go is inexcusable and Tennessee fans deserve a five page single spaced paper from Cuonzo Martin for that idiotic, moronic decision that cost Tennessee game.

2. Tennesse's help defense was too slow today. It was a huge detriment and Missouri got too many good drives in the paint and it cost them dearly.

3. 19 three's on the road when the refs are calling everything is not good coaching. That was a bad game plan. I know Jordy was off, and Josh got decent looks, but that ball should have lived in the paint. Notice Missouri didn't settle for jump shots.

4. Tennessee did dominate the boards and that was nice to see after Florida really dominated the glass Tuesday.

5. Jarnell Stokes was 6-7, and the Missouri big men were in foul trouble all game. That is inexcusable. I mean, for goodness sake, it's not hard to get the ball in the freaking post.

6. I thought this was a perfect game for Maymon to get limited minutes and get Moore more playing time to help spread the floor and help stop penetration. It of course didn't happen for reasons that befuddle me. The worst part was having Maymon in, DOWN BY 3, instead of another shooter. I get having Stokes in for offensive rebounding and screen setting, but both of them is beyond stupid.

7. Bernard King Player of the Game: Jordan McRae. He didn't take great shots, but inside the perimeter he was automatic, and I will always take 8-8 from the free throw line. I thought his defense was pretty solid considering he had tough matchups all night.

8. Josh Richardson hitting those last five three throws just shows his mental toughness and shows he's ready to be a leader on the court next season. Those were huge and absolutely a great sign.

9. Missouri shot 56%. Tennessee shot 42%. I don't even know how they were in this game. It was a miracle they got the ball at the last possession.

10. Tennessee's lack of defense, bad coaching, and dumb late decisions cost them tonight. No excuse for tonight's loss. They should have beat Missouri and it was a pitiful performance by Cuonzo Martin tonight. The decision to go with Antonio Barton late instead of Darius Thompson is the worst coaching decision he's made at Tennessee, and right now this team doesn't deserve a tournament bid.

Some of our players need to stop acting like they are 3pt shooters when they aren't. In the NBA it'll be expected of you so some of them can forget that unless they can do it every game for 82 games. 3pt was an issue in that game but so was the bench. I think we had 3pts off the bench or after the top 5 and after their top 5 scores they had 14pts. It's an issue.
