one of the worst jobs in the country. They think we will be lucky to land David Cutcliff or Al Golden. One guy that calls himself AnchorDown01 gives these 3 reasons why we won't land a top name coach:

1. UT is no longer a Top 25 program. Therefore a name coach will not come. They will have to settle for a second tier head cacah.
2. UT facilities are already the best they can be. Therefore there are no enhancements that would make UT more appealing to recruits.
3. The cupboard is bare. All the money is gone. Therefore UT will not pay the $4 million + needed to attract a name coach.

LOL!! I'm gonna laugh when Franklin bolts soon.

I tried to explain to a Vandy fan Franklin would come to Tennessee in a heart beat. He denied it, saying they already have better players.

I had to listen to Vandy fans bullshat all freaking day at work. I'm ready to start winning again. Vandy fans are funny, one win and two bowls in two years and you'd think they were a powerhouse or something. Buncha nerds!

My goodness you win one game in 30 years and that gives them the right to say our program is not a top 25. In my opinion you just said how bad the Vandy program is by us losing to you we are terrible!

Stupid Vandy pukes!

they beat us twice in 30 years, let them make a DVD of their cute little season and go on. This IS a premier job and we WILL name a first rate coach. They only say what they hope happens

Traditional top programs has been through what we are going through. They have risen above it and so will we. Vandy says this is the biggest win in history for them. You beat one of the worst teams in UT history, what does that say about your sorry program? By the way who have they beat this season that is worth a damn?!

I also got into with a guy at work who said Vandy had better players than we do. I told him it was coaching. With that said Vandy has 7 wins against 7 teams with a losing record. When they beat Florida and Georgia in the same season then I will believe they are on the rise. Until then...they are still the same ole Vandy.

I'm as frustrated as anyone with the state of our program right now, but trash talk from Vandy is beyond ridiculous.

Bottom-Line: When your program is a "coach killer" (meaning that other schools fire their coaches because losing to your pathetic, bottom-feeding program is so unusual as to be virtually unthinkable), you have no room to talk about anyone else.

Vandy fans haven't yet figured out Franklin and Kiffin are two peas in a pod. But of course, they're Vandy fans -- a group that acts the same every year no matter what their record is. Really they deserve a blowhard that represents them so well.

They have strong arguments in every case, unfortunately.
Really? Let's look at these arguments.

1. UT is no longer a Top 25 program. Therefore a name coach will not come. They will have to settle for a second tier head cacah.
UT is potentially a Top 25 program again, which is enough for someone to take a challenge. While we may or may not get the top-tier hire, this is not the reason.

2. UT facilities are already the best they can be. Therefore there are no enhancements that would make UT more appealing to recruits.
What stupid drivel! Yeah, recruits come to a school because they are planning to build facilities, rather than because the top-notch facilities are already built. Right.

3. The cupboard is bare. All the money is gone. Therefore UT will not pay the $4 million + needed to attract a name coach.
Partially true. The cupboard is bare, but the new ESPN TV deal in 2014 will pay an additional $12-14M per school, so if the ADept needed to borrow $6-7M for a year to cover a new staff until the new money kicks in, it is a worthy investment.

Bottom line: The three arguments don't hold much water.
Vandy fans will crow about their good season, but I'd bet they will back under their rock within 2 years. Franklin (if he stays, which I would strongly advise him not to do for his sake -- although I'd prefer he stays so he can get exposed) simply ain't that good of a coach and will not be able to keep up with the big boys for long.

One of the many reasons I can't stand Vanderbilt is just this type stuff. They won how many games last year? Or for say the last 30 years? They win one time at home since 1982 and they think they have a "program". Yeah right. They will be right back at 3-9 next year. Where they should be...and always will be.

That Candy fan mentioned our facilities and they don't impress recruits, dude we have a 104,000 seat stadium and one of the best state of the art training facilities in the country. Even Alabama has come to look at it High School program in Texas has better facilities than Vandy does!! Child Please

what have they won? 3 games against us the past 25 years? who cares. let them worry about their grades and the real programs worry about competing for championships in the near future.
