The Vandymania message board is calling for them to checkerboard Vanderbilt Stadium

This made me laugh, "If we win, it would make the victory so much sweeter. "

They have a better chance to win than actually checkerboard their stadium (and they don't have very much hope to win either). I hate to be cocky but Vandy is pretty much a gimmie game for Tennessee.

Vandy has always had trouble with fans showing up. I believe it was Jerry Dinardo (or maybe Watson Brown) that said they were tired of the Vandy fans that cheered for them all year except the TN game. I am one of those fans as is a lot of middle TN folks.
I like seeing Vandy do well. They will never be a power house and their stadium will always be packed with Vol Fans

When I was a freshman (74 season) Vandy actually had a pretty good team. Even then the only times it filled up were with fans from the other teams. Finished 7-3-2 that year.
Back then you could go to Peabody and play for Vandy...Got some players on the team that didn't quite have the grades.

I think what's being overlooked for all this checkerboard talk is the weather. Early in the year, everyone can afford to plunk down 10 or 15 bucks to get the proper colored shirt for their section. But I think most of us are locked into a winter/cold weather coat or jacket that's more than likely a neutral color. It's a much bigger ask to checker a stadium at the end of November.

Just throw an orange or white shirt OVER your winter warm gear. Grab a $2 clear poncho in case of rain. Now you're game ready.

That has to be a TN fan trolling them. The poster says, "I'm a die hard Vanderbilt fan (first full-time season following the 'Dores) and I watch almost all of our major sports (including our soccer team)." Who in the world becomes a "die-hard" Vanderbilt fan this year.. .when they hadn't won an SEC game in 3 years,. Also, who have you ever met named Vernal.

Tenn fans should checkerboard their stadium, the amount ownage!! Hell that might help the committee put us back in the top. In all seriousness, it would be amazing to see UT fans pull off a checkerboard at an opposing teams stadium

Own their stadium, make it the last home game of the year for the VOLS. Everyone deserves a vacation home

The delusional Vandy fans of Vandymania are calling for Vanderbilt fans to checkerboard Vanderbilt Stadium in gold and black against Tennessee:D:D:D:D It's hard for a couple of hundred Vanderbilt fans to checkerboard anything:D:D:D:D

Let's checker out FirstBank vs UT IN BLACK & GOLD - VandyMania.com
They just mean the one fan in each section needs to wear the appropriate color so it’ll look like plot points of gold and black on a graph. Those nerds will probably use it in some kind of linear equation after the game. It has nothing to do with football.

Lots of them went to Peabody. Many players would not have been admitted. But I had several who lived on my floor freshman year and a few were very smart. Now Peabody is part of Vandy so getting in isn’t much of a problem now

It’s not the first time they have tried to checker their stadium during a Tennessee game.

‘This part kind of worked pretty well.
