The vaunted Stetson Bennett makes the draft at #128.

Meh. He is ok. Let’s be honest though. Would we have ever heard of him had he not played for UGA? Probably not.
granted it was just a preseason game, but he has found some success in the NFL. seems like if he is talented enough to play, he is talented enough to play. yeah playing for Georgia didn't hurt him, but it certainly isn't the only reason he was any good in college.

Did you go to college? Have you any experience working at a college? Or are you just blowing smoke like most right-wingers---lots of opinion, few facts.
Yes. I once drove through the campus of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia. Not sure if it counts as working experience, but when I was sixteen, I did attend cotton scouting school at ABAC as well where I learned how to count bugs properly in a cotton field. Don't smoke.

Good Ole ABAC. Step-son got BS there and MS from UGA. Was in Tifton for his graduation a few years back now. The gnats were impressive, and I'm from middle GA near AMS.

I lived in Hawkinsville before moving to Tennessee.

I also scouted cotton when young. You could make pretty good money back then scouting cotton

Wish I had a picture from then. Would be a leftists nightmare: 16 years old, Yamaha 125 Enduro, boots, jean shorts and a Ruger single-six in a Western style holster on my hip counting bugs. That was how I spent July and August for a couple of years.

Lol, I was much the same. I bet the Ruger actually came in handy at times. I had many tell me before I started scouting that you would never see a rattlesnake in a cotton field. I quickly found out these people were either lying or had never spent time walking in a cotton field. It’s a scary feeling when you’re in a field and you hear that sound!

I also had a Ruger single six. I learned to shoot a handgun using it. It has a 22 caliber cylinder and a 22 mag cylinder that are interchangeable. Really good little gun. I didn’t carry it while scouting but looking back that would have been a good idea.

I once shot a bollworm with it.

Ok. They still have two championships the last two years. I don’t think my QB being mediocre and not a high draft pick would bother me.

I was thinking the same thing. IWould think their priorities center around back to back NC's and not where their QB got drafted. I don't dude at all, but he's having a helluvarookie camp. Not gonna lie, I'm really surprised. Apparently he's better than what people outside of Athens thought. I know I was wrong! And I've never wanted an NFL player to fail like I do him, but I give him props!

yeah I wouldn't read into the draft being the end all be all on quarterbacks. Anthony Richardson was taken in the first. Will Levis second in the second. I would take HH or Stetson over either one of those guys in the college game by a country mile. and would take HH over any of them in the pros.

and there is no way to argue Stetson was the weakest link or holding them back. Its not a coincidence they won their two modern NCs with him under center. He may not be very talented, but the kid knows how to win, and that can't be undersold.

Agree! I hate the dude and he may not have had the recruiting rankings most of his teammates have, but he was anything but their weak link?.

Not the only but the biggest reason. Ian gonna use an extreme example but let’s say Bennett player for Vandy. Do we ever really his name mentioned? No. He would more than likely have been terrible. But since he was at UGA he was around elite coaching staff who knows how to develop. Bennet has talent no doubt. He has an average arm and is short. Those aren’t knocks.
