I can also confirm the Chargers and Vikings apparently from my sources suggest it's the talk behind the scenes for JG.

However does JG want to wait that long and get a NFL job or just be sure to go somewhere like UT. He knows UT wants him.

I have heard JG wants to coach UT but the NFL is still on his list.

Everyone knows this is true, if he even truly wants to coach again at all.

Talking to my source I can confirm that UT has planned one more contact opportunity to get JG. Was also told by somebody he believes they will keep trying and this could even go on for another 2-3 weeks......


I can confirm that UT spoke with Gundy and soem UT admin are not happy they are trying to force a hire. Even mentioning of a UT meeting with themselves just so they do not lose control.


UT and Butch Jones were very close however UT passed. No confirmation why or when. I also was told by someone that he has heard that Chris Peterson was even contacted last week but nothing more came out of it.

It really does seem that UT is just waiting for JG.

Thats odd since the UT plane is in Louis now putting full court press on Strong. Basillio just said we are back on Strong

2-3 weeks and we are screwed if you dont get him. That is the only problem I have. I dont see how in the world we are still looking at Gruden. We need a hire this week for recruiting purposes. I would love to have Gruden. Although at this point we just need a solid hire before the week is out.

I wasn't going to mention but a few UT admin are meeting with Charlie Strong. I also heard that Butch Davis was spoken to this morning.

It does look like UT are going to make sure they don't get left out.
