The Walking Dead

That would make Merle roll over in his racist Walker hole.

Have you seen guardians of the galaxy? Merle is in it. I know that's not his name but after TWD he will always be Merle to me :)

Excellent movie by the way, just our kind of sarcasm.

Reformed comic book nerd here...remember those growing up...never thought it would translate to film...it did...very well. Never bet against a talking raccoon.

I always think of him as Rowdy Burns.

This show is built on gore and special effects to counter when the writing is bad. Watching this show for a drama/storytelling standpoint is really, really, defying the point of the show.
You talking about The Walking Dead?? A show that has been hailed for its writing/acting?

First off I had never seen any zombie film/show until I watched the first episode and I continue to turn in each week because its a dang good drama and not say ZNation a show I could only get through three episodes because of bad writing/acting.

I did not watch until the beginning of the 4th season. Decided to watch after listening to the office staff talk about it.
At a medical conference, started watching on Netflix. Was totally hooked by the end of the 1st episode. Only thing that sucks is that I am totally caught up and have to wait for the episodes now...:)

Watching episodes that way, did you develop a totally not gay fascination with Shane?... Me neither.

Up until the point that he really started threatening Dale, I kind a hoped that he could turn it around. After that with everything else, it was time for him to be put down.

I have really liked the fringe characters that they keep killing off. (Ie Bob)

Funny thing is a lot of his attitudes have been adopted by the survivors...and Rick.

I liked Shane (shut up Coug), and was pissed when they killed him. I like a little inner turmoil in the group.

I liked his character's story line. It played out as long as it needed to though. If it was still going on it would have lost a lot of its strength.

Bob wasn't bad but there was very little that you could cheer about his character. He was like that Survivor contestant that just hangs around. I don't think anyone but you cares that he's gone.

I've been thinking how Shane like Rick has become. Although a lot of Shane's motivation was jealousy.

I wouldn't say Rick has become Shane, I'd simply say Rick has grown as a leader. He's not completely bonkers like Shane was. If Shane were still around today I think he'd have gone the way of The Governor or worse.

That wasn't a "little" inner turmoil that was a tsunami waiting to crash on shore.

When they do not develop a character, as was the case for Bob, you knew that they are merely another "Star Trek red shirt" sent down on the planet, who never return with the away team.

They tried to give Bob a little back story last season. I'm a little surprised they offed him so early.

It is sort of their modus operandi.
When they start to build the backstory and focus on a Fringe character, you can pretty much expect that character to get killed in the next several episodes.

I liked Bob because he was definitely the group optimist. He also gave Sasha's character much more depth.
Hey Coug, it is okay with me if I was the only one that liked Bob. Thanks for noticing :)

No Segueway at all, how about this for a game? Pick a character and match an appropriate song with them. Kind of like a theme song like in professional wrestling or major league baseball.

Daryl: Come With Me Now by Kongos

Beth: Human by Christina Perri

Yes, I am absolutely just that goofy. :)
Also very bored with the bye week for Tennessee football.
