The Walking Dead

I think some on here are missing that all those walkers didn't end up at the quarry naturally they were put there presumably by The Wolves. Remember the big trucks blocking the exits it was the same kind of trucks they found at the end of last season full of walkers.

Also one of the trucks slid off the upper exit (as Rick mentioned in there meeting that one of the trucks was going to stay much longer do to ground erosion) Opening that road directly toward Alexandria. That was the way they didn't want the herd to go that is why they had to immediately jump into there plan to lead them away on a road further from Alexandria.

They were originally just going to do a trial/dry run that's why they by skipped the tractor dealership Rick said we will deal with that on our way back. That is why Glenn and his guys had to go back and take care of it because they had to jump into doing the plan instead of a practice run.

Interesting to see where they go with this. All prior examples of hordes on the show have led to abandoning where they were staying. That being said, I didn't get the impression they were moving on any time soon (from trailers).

The explanation they gave in the show was the quarry trapping walkers just by its shape and the noise of the trapped ones gradually attracted more and more to the area.

But it does appear that those trucks were intentionally placed there to maximize the number of walkers in one place

From the preview for next week it looks like they may not be staying long. Just what I took out of it.

No way those makeshift walls are going to stop the amount of #&*$ headed their way!

On talking dead they said they had 1,000 walkers for that episode. The most before was 300. Even if they had perfect kill shots I doubt they have enough ammo to take them out. They'll have to leave.

The story is starting to get a little old. Find a community, said community is destroyed, find another community, community destroyed again. But I did enjoy the premier. Liked the flashback scenes and how they told two stories at the same time.

Maybe they should just make the walls out of glass.......cause walkers cant break glass apparently.

Plot hole alert!!!

Kind of confused as to why there were so many walkers down there in the middle of nowhere?

The new character he explained it during the show. He was one of their rovers. His crew found the camp in the quarry. The people were alive and had fortified it as a safe haven. No Walker's could Get in.. They then basically committed Jonestown and killed themselves. When he came back by they were all walkers and were making noise drawing other walkers into the area. So it worked where they got in but they could not get out. More walkers equals more noise and a bigger draw. They surmised that that is why Alexandria had seen so few Walker's to that point.

Walker orgy IMO

This needs to happen on Z Nation. Came close with the lesbian walkers but let's take it further. Wait... what am I saying? :)

Uh oh, the gravy train is over. The Season 6 premiere only got a 14.63 rating.

You realize the first season started with ~5 million and the second season with ~7 million. 14.6 is still an epic ratings turnout. I know 20 current shows that would beg to have a quarter of those.

DVRs ruin ratings.

They count DVR viewings up to 3 days after the air date, last I heard anyway.

I was wondering when someone would point that out. it was all explained pretty clearly.

They just need to find a small island that is surrounded by water.

Actually this isn't the answer it appears to be at first blush and was addressed in WW Z. (the book, not the movie) Zombies can't drown. If they find themselves in water they simply keep walking. The end of the book had subs shooting trackers into herds on the ocean flood where they were roaming around.

Now, if it was somehow canon in TWD that Walkers just don't do water then that would have to be considered. (though one falling in would still roam around as long as able to do so)

Boats in deep water are another matter and seem viable as it would seem impossible for "slow" zombies to "swim".

With currents they'd be no threat...and sharks eat everything.

Looks like they may be exploring the boat/island idea in FTWD. I'm guessing their biggest problem wont be walkers, but other boats/people. Same would presumably be true on an island. You would have to be able to defend it, and that would not be easy.

Currents could also sweep some towards you.

Sharks obviously are only even in play in an ocean scenario and even then aren't necessarily going to be a factor. If the story wanted to be written in such a way they could also make them unpalatable to sharks.

My only real point was that water, in and of itself, is not necessarily some "no chance of zombies/walkers" barrier.

In season 2 a comment was made about a zombie being in the well long enough to grow gills. Pretty sure it was a joke. But when I first saw it, I took it for serious. If it grows gills, it has the ability to evolve fast. Which makes me think of the Mr. Smith, Matrix, Virus speech. Maybe zombies are just the next step in the evolution chain.
