The Walking Dead

If I wrote the script for the show, I would have Negan bashing Daryl's head in with Lucille. What way to introduce a new villian by killing off the fan favorite character. Don't get me wrong, I like Daryl but his death would have the most impact to the fans and in the story. It would give a clear indication to Rick's group that Negan is a threat and is to be taken seriously. But the way "The Walking Dead" is written, it wouldn't surprise me if they just killed off a not so important character. Whether the fans like it or not, important characters have to die in order to keep the story moving forward. Otherwise, it's just unrealistic for everyone to be vulnerable during a zombie apocalypse.

I think Daryl dies...but not by Lucille. Maggie gets that treatment IMO.

I've never read the comic but each time they meet new people I think eh kill them all and take their stuff. The people at ye olde plantation are wimps. Kill the leaders and put the sheep to work. Rinse and repeat. As for unrealistic expectations, it's a show about an undead apocalypse destroying the world. It's not Band of Brothers. Accuracy is not expected nor required. I thought it was funny that Last Man on Earth dealt with the inevitable breakdown of gasoline while every car on TWD has a full tank and a charged battery.

What's funny is those weren't Fema trailers either but very few people would have noticed that.

To be fair they have been without vehicles at times.

You have a point about the batteries though. When ever they hot wire a car it seems like it starts right up.

If you're a writer for the show, there really isn't much way of getting around the inevitable holes and still keep your characters alive. Dead batteries aren't the only hole.. But it's a good show that you just have to accept for what it is. jmo

If they don't go with the comic book scenario of who Negan kills with Lucille, I think it should be Abraham. He's a main character and I think it would be an impactful character to off. Just my :twocents:

I mean cars are quite literally "plot vehicles" so I understand it. If the entire series was about these people on foot they wouldn't make it far. And that would be sort of boring. Although Rick and Darryl apparently had max stamina and were able to run down a box truck.

Oh also there shouldn't be fat people. That seems sort of obvious. You're running out of food but a lot of these folks look like they haven't missed a meal in a while.

Kinda like the fat dude in Lost... seriously??

I was thinking the same. For his supposed importance in the comics, he hasn't really done a whole lot on the show. Now, he's getting a fair amount of emphasis, having these existential crises and pondering the world. He's ripe for the picking off.

Maybe the obese survivors have been hoarding together. They have a secret stash of food?

The only problem with that is:

He already gets offed by Negan's sidekick Dwight with an arrow from a crossbow. Dwight was already introduced earlier in the season as the guy who stole Daryl's crossbow and motorcycle. Plus that happens in the comic before Glenn gets Lucilled. I know they mix things up but I don't think they'll go that route because I think Abraham's fate on the show will be the same as the comic

Based on some of the comments from the cast, is it safe to assume a major character is eating it in the finale?

Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan have been quoted as saying it was a tough shoot. They didn't specifically say someone is offed but if you read between the lines, someone major is eating it.

So if the spoiler talk is true, the next episode won't be a filler either:

Maggie and Carol apparently get kidnapped by Negan's group

The attack/destroy Negan's group strategy is going to go just as well as the million Walker parade strategy...nothing like Rick thinks it will turn out. Multiple people will die needlessly.

They would have been better off moving the Hilltop group to Alexandria...joining forces and then dealing with Negan's crew.

Heck, they have enough sniper rifles to take them out from a distance. Find Negan's fortified area...blow up their gate or wall with the RPG (bringing Walkers in)
Then use the snipers to pick off anyone that they see. Starting with Negan. Take out anyone that attempts to lead a counterattack. Simple. Safer than blindly attacking which will be Rick's plan....

She's going to end up killing Morgan. He doesn't look on board. Prolly values Savior's lives more than Alexandria's.

I'm finding Rick's attitude toward Negan's group a little rushed and haphazard. He needs to calm down and do some recon. Figure out how big Negan's group is, where it's at, what all he has in his arsenal, and come up with a strategy.

I don't know who Negan kills but if it ends up being Glenn then I'll be disappointed with the show writers.

Agreed. At this point, Glenn should be as immune to dying as Rick; the writers have gone way outta their way to portray Glenn as having this enigmatic 9-lives ability

I'll be dissapointied because all the drama from early this season will have been pointless.

However, they may be doing as a way to show his luck ran out.

Ironic that he hasn't killed a human through all of this....only to have a human kill him.

Hopefully that doesn't happen. He is likely doomed...

Hmm... did he not participate in the execution of the Termites? Pretty sure Maggie did.
