I can't critique the show that I was attempting to watch w my wife? Is this thread only for high praise?
I completely agree with you. GoT has a ton of more story lines than TWD, yet they fit them all into one hour and it's not boring one bit. It actually makes you want to watch more of every character's story and their development. I couldn't careless about Morgan and Carol's story, and we end up getting an hour of it smh.I think my biggest problem with the walking dead is structure. I don't understand why they dont move to a game of thrones type where they show all of the plot lines a few minutes each. At least for me, I don't want to watch Carol and Morgan for an hour or watch Morgan become a hippie for an hour and a half. Especially with what they decided to do last season ending on a cliffhanger. So now everyone waits 8 months to see the conclusion, which they dragged out and we won't see that part of the story again for 3 weeks because it looks like next week is going to be an all Daryl episode. I also think the show would be better suited for 12-13 episode seasons, but I guess they can't throw away ad revenue.

I get the criticism about the plot lines being broken up. It's definitely what makes for "bad" episodes. However those episodes almost always seed future episodes.
This past one for example wasn't as much about Carol and Morgan as it was establishing The Kingdom and Ezekiel. You may not care in the moment but when they come into play for the upcoming war you would probably find it odd that they just show up and help.
I thought it was a decent episode. Not a heart stopper by any means. I liked Carol's initial response to Ezekiel. She looked at him like she was a complete loon but played along. I thought it was important to show Ezekiel was complying with the Saviors but he is secretly trying to mount some kind of strike.
Gotta love them sending pigs fattened up on walkers.
