The Walking Dead

Familiar territory with this episode; was anyone really expecting anything different at this point? I like King Ezekiel's character although I thought he was a little too quick to open up to Morgan and Carol. We've seen where trusting someone too early gets you in the walking dead, so it seemed really out of place for the king to drop his facade so quickly

It's because he wants to get to know Carol more....if you know what I mean.

It could be just as simple as there's only so much time to tell the story so some of the telling may get a bit truncated.

He knew they were enemies of the saviors so they were his friends.

Being an actor himself he saw through Carol's act immediately. He had to drop his act to get her to drop hers or at least try to establish a level of trust.

Like in the comic books? I don't read them but am aware.

Yeah a character totally out of left field , living amongst the saviors helping the Kingdom,Hilltop, and Alexandria come together to defeat Negan. He may not die until the end of season 8

The "left field" caveat has me guessing Dwight. With the Denise thing fans have relegated him to being an ancillary evil character. He tried to get out and got his face burned...maybe his girlfriend Lucilled, but hasn't lost his soul yet. Read that off him in the premiere. The tease has him not very happy with a recent slaughter performed by his compadres".

Anyone die tonight?
Catch up story with Daryl and Dwight...
Mostly Dwight.
Likely some beat down humble Rick too :)

Heath and Tara story too or do they get their own episode?

I'll be mostly focusing on Daryl and Dwight in tonight's episode. Probably won't even see Rick in it.

I've not read the comics or do look for info on the show. I hate how they have handled Glenn the last 2 seasons.

i have loved the last 2 episodes. just from the Previews, I thought the King was just another governor. good to see I was wrong. I would be ok having a few episodes just on how Negans group was formed

Thought it was pretty enlightening. Had guessed along those lines for Dwight.

Way to many commercials... I will start to DVR them from here on out and watch them later.

commercials = :banghead2:

I always watch them on mon or tues to be avoid commercials. I watched the last season finale live and the stoppage was unbearable. Kinda like watching an SEC game on CBS.

So were all the Walkers along that fence and in that pen just people that didn't buy in to Negan's group?
Or was it something more or different?

Gordon was an attempted defector...prolly similar stories.

I found this episode quite boring. I get the set up and character establishment but I found myself looking down at my phone a couple times because it just wasn't holding my interest.

The only way to watch is on DVR. Last season I would start around 930 and be able to finish up around 1015 without seeing a single commercial. Should still be the same. Haven't bothered this season, wife watches them later in the week

Dwight is interesting. Otherwise it was a pretty slow episode.

And I'm probably in the minority, but I'm finding Negan more annoying than terrifying.
