The War on Women begins ....

This thread is not about abortion. It's about the politics of defunding planned parenthood.

The fundraising off of this, alone, will give the Dems complete control by 2020.

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Thursday that defunding Planned Parenthood will be included as part of a bill to repeal ObamaCare.

Ryan said cutting off federal funds to the organization will be included in a “reconciliation” bill that also repeals the core of ObamaCare. The reconciliation process prevents Democrats from launching a filibuster against the measure, meaning Republicans won't need 60 votes to win on defunding.

By PP's own numbers it serves less than 1% of the US population a year. I can't see how defunding it could possibly motivate a large enough block to dramatically sway anything.

If they can fund raise that well, then just direct that money to fund it themselves, privately.

But you're correct, young women getting knocked up while single, is a very wealthy demographic.

I don't get how defunding planned parenthood is considered the start of the "War on Women".

I do think this is a stupid political move. Why tie the two together?

Stubbornness. The funny thing is Republicans in congress are blind to the fact that the democrats basically have a eugenics program going on and it helps control population and future democrats.

No one is saying women's health isn't important. All they are saying is that the government shouldn't have to pay for it. Women want birth control, they need to pay for it. Cancer screenings? Pay for it. Last time I checked there werent government funded testicular or prostate cancer screenings.

Because its War on Women is easier to say than "dont de-fund our eugenics program!".

So basically, LG (the guy who loves to throw around the term "racist") is saddened that a program founded by a woman who wanted to murder black babies might not get government funding?

Is it fair to call him a racist at this point?
