of all people? If I've learned anything on VN it's that I would never trust a poll where a small subset of the most vocal fans hang out (sorry freak). Polls like that are like a bug zapper to the most outspoken and do not really represent the majority of fans out there

just my opinion since you claimed I should know

I'll go on record and say I don't want him back.

However, that does not mean if he is hired I won't continue cheering and yelling for the Vols (like some on here have said if Pearl is not hired). But, I'll have the same mentality I had when the loud ones were so excited we hired Kiffin. I'll always wonder when the NCAA hammer will come down.

I know this is only opinions and many may well think I'm crazy, but I do think UT is the 2 most talented team in the SEC and one of the top 16 in the nation.

KY has alot of paper talent, but they're young and unseasoned.

Florida's talent is seasoned like UT's, but I think McRae and Stokes are more talented than anybody at FL. I don't see any of the Gators playing at the next level. If Richardson continues to improve he may well get the opportunity to join Stokes and McRae in the NBA. In addition, Maymon's a heck of a player when his body allows.

Call me crazy if you'd like, but that's my honest opinion.

A) I have a headache from people who can't comprehend how polling data works. 90% of people wanted Bruce back on the KNS poll. Those kind of numbers have nothing to do with who signs a petition or not.

B) Martin is coming back no matter what. I'm going to enjoy this ride if we can actually do anything, because it may be a while before we get to take it again.

C) Those who strongly support Martin coming back, what are your standards for next year? Mine will be at minimum what he does this year. It will be completely his team and completely his product next year. If he's the man, that will be his time to show it.

Then you're going to be sorely disappointed. There's no post replacements for Stokes and Maymon waiting their turn.

And, again, those small percentages can work because they have the total population. X/100 = Y/total population (6.4 million for Tennessee). In the case of this poll, you don't have the total population, so you can't even come close to saying it is the majority.

If my business was damn near bankrupt 3 years after I fired him, but was making loads of $ while he was my employee...I'd definitely entertain the idea.

I didn't say it wasn't worth paying attention to. I said it wasn't bankrupt. But, with how bad some say it is, drawing 16k a game is not as bad as say, 80k for football.

I know it will be tough, but people in this thread are selling Cuonzo back next year very strongly, with a raise/extension, that tells me he's built a strong program and that his 4th year when he's got entirely his own roster, should be a good team.

You are correct. However; the 2005 football team was ranked in the top ten and we ended up with a losing season. So, injuries, poor coaching or uninspired playing from the players can cause what we are now seeing in a less than stellar season.

This is super bad for recruiting. Other schools can negative recruit the hell out of this situation.


"Coach Martin can't coach his team to their full potential, so you should play college basketball at the University of "X" rather than at Tennessee. He struggles to get a healthy upperclass team to the NCAA."
