Ok, so a buddy and myself were talking and we came up with this idea. I personally HATE the idea of people getting welfare money from the government and not having to EVER do anything. Its kind of a slap in the face for these people to get part of my hard earned money. So the solution that was thought up is this, the welfare box. Like a job the person will come in and sit in a box and start at the wall for 8 hours a day. They will clock in, and sit in the box, they will have a 30 minute lunch break, and then after that they go back into the box. If they are late, they are docked money, if they dont show up they can get fired from welfare.

They'd find a way to say it will cost trillions of dollars in tax payer money to do that. Those chairs and clocks cost a lot you know. Do you love how they just stick a ridiculous number on stuff. They got to add in some pork somewhere.

That will save them a few trillion right there. Afterall they were to be made of the finest oak or cherry they could find. Nothing but the best for the moochers.:)

oh yes, i say we paint the room out of the cheapest paint in china.

im waiting for some libs to post how this is inhumane or toture or something like that

Honestly, there are probably all kinds of excuses that the liberals will come up with, and one would be they have to watch after their kids. So, can you throw in some punishment for having 18 babies to draw more money?

That would just give them a reason to get some blood sucking lawyers in on the deal. Saying that breathing lead based paint for hours is inhumane. Bart durham would be all over that one.

as compared to them sitting around and watching trash tv and getting part of my paycheck? id rather them be miserable then be sitting eating bon bons watching as the world turns, either way they are wasting their day, if they dont like it, IDK they can get a job

recieved an email yest that had an interesting point. this guy said he was tested for drugs and alcohol at his job, and since his money went to those who were on welfare he came up with the idea that we should test these ppl for drugs and alcohol, and if they fail well no money for them. i agree 100% with that idea

I say put them to work doing odd jobs to better the neighborhood they live in, have them clean up school yards and parks, make them do something for their free ride.

i agree, but once again the libs will think of someway that it is inhumane or something stupid, God forbid the people who the money is COMING from, (not handed to on a silver platter) demand some sort of accountability

On a serious note. They do need to do something about it. Its sucking the system dry.

Maybe start going door to door, find out why these people can't work. If they're able bodied give them a court date and let them explain why they can't work to a judge. At which time the bleeding hearts would probably intervene with their inhumane garbage.

It a complex problem that needs some sort of solution. I don't have a good answer, except maybe policing it better might help.

well the way some get around the job requirements is that they say they are trying to find a job, but when they apply, they make their applications so absurd that no one will hire them, they are "looking" for a job, so i guess that warrants a portion of my paycheck

Follow up on those people, find out where they supposedly filled out a app. Call them and find out why they weren't hired or the reason they weren't considered. Too many people doing the same thing. I say give those people a reasonable amount of time to find a job then tighten up on them to the point of get a job or homeless is your next option. Might sound bad, but if they don't start doing something similar to this then its just going to collapse under its own weight. I like mania's idea about drug testing, make them piss in a cup if they can't find something in a reasonalbe amount of time. Our society has grown lazy, too many look for the easy way out. Time to cut the bums off.

While there are people that mooch on the system, I believe it's grossly over-exaggerated on the extent of the mooching. People on welfare are not living a care-free life of luxury.

Welfare is broken, and even one person getting a free ride that doesn't need it is too many. But this thread makes me think some people have a very skewed view of the welfare system.

While there are some "generational" welfare receipients, there are just as many that are ashamed to be in that situation.
