The Woke Olympics

I mean, I get all that. It's their MO.

I'm trying to have him dissect the etymology of Rappinhoe. I want to taste his wit.

Really? Nobody cares about her being a female. Nobody cares about her being a lesbian. Nobody cares about her running her mouth off the field.

What people do care about is that purple haired Peter Pan casting reject disrespecting the very country that gave her the opportunity to perform on the world stage and actually winning games.

Perhaps less social justice and running her mouth and more winning would go a little further with all of us.

Quitting is the new winning!

The media will never tell the truth because of her skin color, but at the end of the day she quit.
She had never been the star before and all the pressure was on her and she quit. Shes still really good, but weak sauce like this moves her down the GOAT status.

Romanian. The first Olympic gymnast to score a prefect 10.

Yeah, I get it, Biles is the most winning gymnast of all time, but the "best" is certainly debatable.
It is, but I saw her doing the vault the other night and another American was doing the same vaults as she was….. while their scores were almost the same…Biles was much more impressive….she was 3 feet higher in the air

Evidence?
Is this for real? I’d heard she dropped out and it wasn’t due to injury but I hadn’t heard it was a protest against some BS Olympic Committee decision.

That some crap if that’s true.

But despite the unquestionable difficulty of “The Biles,” FIG assigned the move a difficulty rating of “H.” Although no one in the world can currently do this move but Simone Biles, FIG chose not to value this move as an “I” or a as a “J” which may have also been appropriate. FIG justified this by claiming that this move carries increased risks for gymnasts, “including a potential landing on the neck.” Aside from the fact that from a layperson’s perspective, every gymnastics move seems like it could result in a potential landing on the neck, something seems familiar about this situation. It turns out that creating rules to stifle excellence is an all too common, cross-sector approach to limiting competition.

I’m not entirely sure what the whole story is on this, but as I posted, that was what I heard first as my daughter read off parts of an article that hit her feed and it was discussing Biles issue with scoring at the Olympics. I have not been able to pull up anything that is definitive wrt to the scoring issue. I’ve watched no Olympics at all so don’t know if it was discussed in the network coverage.

This type of a-hole and his ilk will eventually be the downfall of the country
That guy is nobody. You need to worry about the Karens, Kevins and Keishas in your schools, HR departments and those either creating or enforcing laws. Some washed up sports journalist is the least of my worries right now.

It’s more about his mentality… not who he is

I'm sorry; should I try to find a source that uses epithets, insults, gross exaggerations, outgrouping, and other hallmarks of the media that is celebrated here?

The Forbes article clearly labeled itself as an analytical piece, discussing the implications and effects of the scoring in a way that quantitatively compares the performances of equivalent competitors. It includes actual scorecards and links to primary and secondary sources.

Primary:
Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique

Secondary:
Simone Biles Tests the Boundaries of Gymnastics With Her New Moves

I'd be careful about tossing around that "hundred years" figure...

Nadia Comăneci is the first that comes to mind about setting the bar for Olympic gymnasts.

Nothing to be careful about.
“If we’re talking about domination, nothing like that has ever happened in our sport,” Nadia Comaneci, who is still on a first-name basis with the world 40-plus years after scoring gymnastics’ first perfect 10, told USA TODAY Sports.

“I don’t think there will ever be anything like that. She’s one of a kind.”
Simone Biles is greatest gymnast of her generation, and every other

WARNING - In other news the leftist media darling Simone quit due to head issues and if you dare question it you will be labeled a racist

On this specific one I am giving her a pass. She is barely removed from the sexual harassment situation that occurred for decades and probably has PTSD. They also would not allow her support group due to Covid so she was very isolated.

She probably had severe flashbacks.

Now why she is still competing as an individual I don’t quite get.

WALSH: Simone Biles Quit On Her Team And Her Country. She Should Not Be Celebrated For It. | The Daily Wire

From the way that Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is being praised this week, you might think that the decorated superstar put on a heroic display during the team competition in Tokyo and led her squad to a gold medal.

Prominent politicians like Ayanna Pressley and Cori Bush have made public statements applauding her. The White House Press Secretary expressed “gratitude and support.” Deadspin gushed over “the most impressive move of her career.” Former Olympians joined in the group hug. Articles have been written extolling her bravery and declaring that her achievements this week have sent a “powerful message” to the world. CNN called her performance “impactful.” She has been hailed for her strength and for “setting an amazing example” and being a great athlete and role model. Women’s advocacy groups have thanked her.

It was all perhaps the most effusive praise that has ever been heaped on a quitter.

That is what Simone Biles did to earn this exuberant applause. She gave up

Come on man.

Yes, she was a member of that team. Team. United in purpose, focus, and goals. And it showed.

Now? She is a member of a team that has lost its' purpose, its' focus, and thus it will likely fall short of its' goal. And it shows.

Forgive me for not standing (or kneeling, is it?) to applaud the most divisive athlete on the most talented team U.S. Women's Soccer has ever fielded.

That would be "telling it like it is". They might yet win gold, but if they do it will be in spite of her, not because of her. There's no "I" in a team, and she had been nothing but all about her, and her agenda, for quite awhile now.

That, again, would be telling it like it is. It's not about her being gay; it's about her being "her".

Yes it will be in spite of the person they voted in as a team captain. Lol
