The Worst Fans I've Ever Been Around

If I were to rate the most friendly enviroment outside of Nashville it would be our trip to Lexington every other year. The folks are real nice to talk with and like Nashville there is a ton of orange.
Isn't it funny how the crappier a football program is the better their fans are? Give Kentucky a few winning seasons and watch all that change.

The Kentucky fans always tell me wait until basketball season starts....That could of worked seasons past but heck, the Vols basketball team isn't a joke anymore.

UF has the worst most redneck fans, hands down, take a trip to Gainesville, wifebeaters and mullets as far as the eye can see

The worst fans I have been around were Buckeyes during the John Cooper era.

Weird, you'd think they'd be worse during the Tressel Era.

Or are you just not around them anymore?

From my experiences, I would have to say Arkansas fans are the worst, with Georgia coming in a close second.

Believe it or not, Alabama fans were awesome for the most part when I went down to the game last season.

I went to the Arkansas game this year and they were the best bunch I have ever been around on the road. Even during and after, they weren't as bad as others.

Maryland and Clemson fans are bad out of conference fans.

Earlier in this thread I acknowledged that UF fans can be very obnoxious and they may be the most abrasive in the SEC.

But redneck? Mmmmmm..., not from the stands or the massive and incredibly well-appointed RVs I am used to seeing there.

I guess it was because I am a student. It was pretty bad. There were Arkansas fans who would literally come up and scream in our faces to "Go Home."

I will agree with you though about Clemson fans. After they beat us in the Peach Bowl a few years ago, you would have thought they had just won the Super Bowl with the way some of their fans were.

Agree. Tennessee fans calling UF fans rednecks and vice versa is really funny. Its like saying Michael Richards is more of a biggit then Mel Gibson.

As a UT student, I once got cussed out in an incredibly obscene manner by a young purple-and-gold clad anklebiter who MIGHT have been six years old.

Ohio State fans have gotten worse because there's a lot more now. I was recently told by one of them (while I was wearing a US Naval Academy shirt) "(Screw) Navy, leave Ohio if you don't want to root for OSU".

My daily experiences with Ohio State fans could fill my own website up. These obnoxious, loudmouthed, drunken, couch- and dumpster-burning, BS pass-interference loving, arrogant punks are the biggest reason why I'd rather see Florida win on January 8. Of course, I'm rooting for Florida on the condition that their fans not be able to use it in conversation with me.

(NOTE: The above episode is not to suggest that being told to leave the state for not wearing OSU colors is a rarity; on the contrary, this is a daily occurrance. The reason I posted that one is because I was wearing a Navy shirt at the time, as opposed to one from, say, Wichita State)

I cannot promise not to bring it up should you root for us and we win. Tell you what, though. I'll bring it up regardless of whether you root for us or not.

How's that for a deal?

lawgator,

You can claim 2006, as long as you then admit that 1996 was a Bowl Coalition-created sham.

Have you people that think SC fans are obnoxious ever actually attended a football game?
