I sat in the visitor section during the UT-USC game in 2003. They are quite obnoxious. I went to the game in 2004. They all left pre-fourth quarter after taunting us for most of the first half, when the Vols trailed. They are pretty bad. Also, these were older fans, not students.

i've never had any problems with gamecocks fan. either in neyland or in Columbia. i think their stadium surroundings are a bit of a dump, but they've always been quite nice to me.

I'll concede that they like to leave early, but you can't seriously put Gamecock fans in the same zip code as Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Bama fans.

Heck, WE are ,ore obnoxious than they are.

They aren't really in the league of UGA or UF, but those schools both have something to be cocky about. The Gamecocks have never won anything.

I guess it's just that in some places you feel like there is tension just because of the color you are wearing. When I go to Columbia, I feel like I would have to get caught beating an 70 year old woman in order to start something.

Hold on one second there, buster. Cocky was voted the National Mascot of the Year twice AND our equestrian team is top notch. They won the Hunt Seat NC last year, man. I'll say this, if you ever go to an equestrian match, you'd better have your game face on. It gets pretty serious out there. And while you're at it, don't forget our NIT dominance.

Seriously though, all schools have a contingent of followers that go to games looking to stir the pot with other fans. I was at the 2000 Carolina v. Clemson game and there was this Carolina fan that was being such a jerk to everyone around him that when we lost on a last second FG, for a split second, it didn't bother me because he had made such a fool out of himself.

I've come to the realization that there are good and bad fans in every group. Go out and buy yourself a $5 radio and listen to the game while you are there like I do. If something gets going around me, I can't hear it.

Yes, many times . . . and I live around them all year. They are always "two years away" from a championship. And after the season, the officiating kept them from a one loss season.

When I was in Columbia in '04, had a Gamecock stick his head out the window as we're walking near the stadium, and proclaim that "we've beat you 5 years in a row." You have to understand, though, that to Gamecock Nation, a close game is a moral victory and moral victories may as well be "W"s.

When it comes to football, SC fans are certainly the most delusional in the SEC and probably the country. Hard to take a program with 3 bowl wins too seriously.

And this past year I saw the aftermath of two fights while waiting the standard 30 minutes to get through the gate at Williams-Brice so getting something started there isn't too hard.

UGA football.Although it may have been just a single event.Other than that,some (fellow ) UT Fans get pretty ridicolous.I have seen where people would leave their seat because of some drunk acting strange,I've seen our fans get kicked out prior to the UF football game this year (6 total,guys and girls,for starting a fight with someone).

You need to look no further than this message board. There are a ton of them that have come out of the woodwork on here today.

Every fan base has them. It just appears that most of UT's are on here this afternoon.

I'm not piling on, just making a point after all of the Gamecock fan bashing that went on here last week.

Sorry about the loss. I was pulling for the Vols and picked them to win.

worst fan bases?

OSU takes the cake in my opinion... along with the fair-weather USC Trojan fans that make up 90% of their fan base.

also included in this are the fans of any team that CONSTANTLY make fun of other teams (or team members) to make themselves feel better about their own team's deficiencies.
