The worst thing about 2 SEC teams in

Did you watch the Iron Bowl or SECCG? If the officials were supposed to guarantee Bama a win, then someone forgot to tell them.
I would agree except for that last Bama drive. The officiating was horrible on that drive especially on intentional grounding and I was wondering about the Auburn runner being drug out of bounds to kill the clock.

It doesn't matter if he was drug out of bounds.

I would like for someone more familiar with the rules than I to weigh in. It may be pro ball but I think there is a difference between voluntarily and involuntarily going out of bounds.

If a defender so much as pushes a runner out of bounds, he’s still out of bounds.

You don’t get to keep the clock running because the runner intended to stay inbounds but was forced out.

I honestly don't know the NFL's rule, but here's the rule from the 2021 college football rule book:

Rule 3, Section 3, Article 2 ("Starting and Stopping the Clock"):

d. For each of the following, the game clock is stopped on the official's signal. If the next play begins with a snap, the game clock will start on the snap:
2. With fewer than two minutes remaining in a half a Team A ball carrier... is ruled out of bounds.

There is no distinction drawn between going out voluntarily and being forced.

I guess where the clock would keep running would be if it was ruled that his forward progress was stopped and the play was ruled dead before he went out of bounds.

That could happen, but obviously didn't in the Iron Bowl scenario.

So had we been in GA's shoes and had beaten Bama reg season (instead if A&M) all you whiners would be bitching that we are in the playoffs with Bama instead of a more "deserving " team.

The SECCG ended up not being close.

Amazing that a 6-6 AU team being one of the two closest teams to Birmingham gave Bama the best game all year outside of TAM. GA beat them by over 3 TD's, at Jordan Hare.

I think the iron Bowl this year is what a level and fairly officiated game really looks like. Good and bad calls that affect momentum for both teams.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

You're actually serious, aren't you? Your Bama butthurt has morphed into full on delusion.
