How did her first day go? Depending on where she works, it can be a real eye-opener.View attachment 529189
Middle brat has taken on a challenge, and started a job as a cna this morning. It was actually a suggestion from her dr, to get experience in a medical related field, and to see this side of it. She says she's going to still work for tj max, and she might, but I told her she doesn't need to kill herself. Proud of her though, tough job for a 17 year old to tackle, though she's turning 18 next week . Goid $ for her, saving for college.
When I asked she said she threw up in her mouth in the first room. I know how it can be, mom worked as HR until she retired at a nursing home, and Tiffany was doing CNA and going to be a nurse before everything got bad. She said it got better, and so far she likes it.How did her first day go? Depending on where she works, it can be a real eye-opener.
I‘m so proud of all she’s accomplished!
My mom’s assisted living facility lost water during The Big Freeze for five (!) days. They provided drinking water along with gallon jugs for flushing toilets to each room, but I can’t imagine what it was like dealing with 70 or so residents, most with at least mild dementia, asking repeatedly why their toilets weren’t working. Let’s just say that it got awfully fragrant. When I asked she said she threw up in her mouth in the first room. Tell her that you have to put your mind in another place. It’s not easy and takes time. You can have a heart for it (most importantly), but it does take time to separate yourself and just pay attention and learn. When I asked she said she threw up in her mouth in the first room. Redirection when it’s out of their normal. You stick with one communal toilet with a 5 gallon bucket full of water and keep them occupied and keep every other part of their day normal. My mom’s assisted living facility lost water during The Big Freeze for five (!) days. To add to the merriment, they had a Covid outbreak on day 3 (now apparently resolved), so they were mostly in their rooms.Redirection when it’s out of their normal. Love it!View attachment 529706
Middle brat and her best friend. We done the senior walk, and walked them to the block. They had to race each other, the whole team, in these floaties. It was so much fun, but emotional.

I thought nursing or some healthcare job would be a great fit for me, but after seeing frustrations from my sister, I knew my patience level with patients wouldn't be a good fit. When I asked she said she threw up in her mouth in the first room. I know what kind of patient I am. Ain't no way 8 could deal with thatSimilar here. My whole career was in healthcare, but non-clinical. I would hate to subject patients to my little quirks.
