I’ve said it for years. I cried when I turned 30, or should I say, I cried leading up to 30. I didn’t know why at the time, maybe the adulting thing, but when I moved into my 40’s, I suddenly realized I reached the age where I now longer had to impress or wear makeup when I left the house. I still wear makeup, but for me. It’s been the most liberating thing. It really is one of the greatest things about hitting *a certain age* (varies for everyone.) Once you no longer care about whether your looks/ actions/ speech/ behavior/ outfits/ beliefs fit some "you're supposed to be like *this* to make people pleased with you", it's pretty incredible.
