Volnation is hilarious. I was in Gainesville, I was pissed about the game, but I’m not sitting here pissing and moaning about how the season is over. A Hendon Hooker led team lost a game on the road to a South Carolina team probably on the same level as this Florida team we just lost to. I went into this game thinking our odds were 50/50 or hell even 40/60 in the swamp. I wasn’t confident to win there since we haven’t won there in the last 21 years now. Y’all gotta realize this team is different than last years, and it’s going to take time to get everything right. The season is still right in front of us, and if we make adjustments like good coaches make going forward then we can still have a good season! The next 3 games are home games that are winnable games! 5-1 going into Tuscaloosa isn’t so far fetched! I’m still with our guys. I think all these mistakes are fixable, and I think they will turn it around the next 3 games. I know it’s hard to trust coaches after all we’ve been through, but we gotta trust Heupel. He’s earned our trust IMO.

Heupel will be Pruitt/Jones 2.0 if he sticks with Milton long term and refuses to make a change. Vols will finish 7-5, they are not that good, we have 3 games to show that.

I believe in the team and Heup, but not Milton

I hate to agree because I think Milton is a great dude and a great athlete and represents our university well. I want him to succeed.......but when the cameras caught him mouthing "what was the play?" and seeing our coaches not trust him with downfield throws? I know in the back of their minds the team is not trusting him either........unfortunately, its time to give Nico a shot and quite honestly this is the weekend to do it. Get Nico live game reps against a UTSA team. Saban has pulled the trigger and changed QB's and so should we........I hope Heupel isnt stubborn in change.

Also, OP is spot on......Im an 80's/90's kid so I loathe Florida more than any other team.......but the season isnt over. Still top 20 with a lot of ranked teams on the schedule including #1 UGA at home. Lots to play for like a NYD bowl or even the SEC east as bad as Florida SHOULD be rest of the way.

I don't get why everyone is so shocked. All off-season most of us said on here that this team would go as far as Joe Milton could take them. Throwing Nico in this year isn't going to improve our record any and it could stunt his growth if he takes a mental and physical beating like Guarantano did in his early outings. That dude never recovered. I think it's unlikely Milton leads us to a 9-10 win season, but him figuring it out is pretty much the only path to that kind of season that is available this year. We need to give him a few more games before we scrap the season. I'm all for easing Nico in once it's for sure the season is lost, but right now it's not for sure that's the case at all.

With a record of 7-5 after year THREE... time to get the rolodex out.... AGAIN! We should be BUILDING, not REbuilding!!! His lack of recruiting quality OL is embarrassing.

I didn't realize that FSU was LSU's rival that they've repeatedly lost games to them that they shouldn't

All great points. However....there are very valid concerns for this team through 3 games and some may not be fixable. I think the biggest thing to watch for is the return of Cooper Mays. That has the most potential for "fixing" the offense. The defense is another story.

This team that traveled to Florida will struggle the rest of this season, IMO. There are at least 3 more losses on the schedule, possibly 5-6. The problem is the QB position, and you have to choose the lesser of two evils. Ride with an incapable 6th year player, or throw in a true freshman. Either option has little chance for success. I'm not a NegaVol, but a realist. Right now, Alabama, Georgia, and Missouri will beat this team, and they will struggle and possibly lose to UTSA (shootout), South Carolina (depends on which USC team shows up), and Texas A&M (schedule placement helps UT). Even Kentucky is up in the air at this point (on the road in the cold), to me.

I agree 1000%, I do not want another stupid coaching search. I want Heupel to win and be successful, but he has shown he cannot win on the road against our biggest rivals.

I’d rather just stick with Heupel and see if he can fix the issues instead of going through another pointless coaching search.

We’re all burnt out on it.

I am most shocked that an offense in their 5th and 6th years of college are struggling to get going. I hoped that they would be somewhat polished by now and have a effective game plan. They look unprepared, like they have never played, especially the OL. All the false starts and silly penalties by the OL killed any momentum the O could muster. The OL/Qb doesn't see the rush or call extra protections correctly. Nobody picked up blocks. The WRs are helping anyone. It's a freakin mess. No wonder Bru doesn't have any confidence.

No, sorry. We have to bench the QB, fire the coach, staff, and AD. Fire up the coaching search threads, and hopefully get an up and come who struggles to beat fcs schools, or even loses to them, instead of keeping a coach who beat bama and Florida his second year. It's the only logical answer. Butch should be available soon, he did beat Georgia 👀

What is crazy to me is the guys who want Heup fired 3 games after he gave us the best season in 20 years. Some of y'all have lost your minds.

I also don't get the hate on Milton. He made a couple bad throws/decisions...but what QB doesn't? He also made many great/perfect throws. Look at how the Alabama QB's did. If you watch any game in college football...the QB makes bad throws from time to time. It's like the expectations (of absolute perfect play) are unrealistic. Milton didn't have anything to do with why we lost. In this case the Refs, our toughness, and 42 other things had a bigger negative impact on the game than Milton.
