We don't deserve to make it to the playoffs this year. Playoff teams don't let South Carolina score at will.

I hope this game serves as a wake up call to the whole program that defense needs to be addressed bigtime. In fact we need to make it a priority. We can't expect to get where we want to go solely on the back of the offense. Heupel needs to get a top notch coach for the defense and let him do his thing. I don't know that Banks is the guy. Danny White needs to give them the money to hire a top notch defensive staff. All hands on deck to address the defense

The definition of Vol Insanity, is to keep the same loser coaches and expect better results next season.

I also hope this serves as a wake up call to those who discount any opponent, any week, any year and continue to declare we "win by fiddly" every game.

With our defense being just terrible I am not sure I want to make the playoffs at this point. If the absolute bottom dwelling garbage that is South Carolina can drop 60+ on us what is an Ohio State going to do?

It’s possible for sure. Not probably but possible.

You have 3 spots locked up by our loss.

Georgia, Oh St, and Michigan.

So we are competing for the fourth spot. TCU still has two very losable games. So does USC. So does Clemson. If all those teams lose one of 2 (2/2 for TCU) and Georgia beats LSU, a 2 loss UT could be the fourth team

Why are you wanting to get into the playoff with a secondary like that ? Just win out at Vandy, win the bowl game and recruit for next year. It could only hurt us to play a top tiered team in the play offs and get embarrassed on the big stage again.

Tennessee was in control of their own destiny for the most part, and decided not to show up last night. I have a feeling some of those guys will have some regrets later.

This may be dumber than the “they’ve figured heupel out” or “nil is ruining the game” posts.

One bad game doesn’t define a team. If we can beat Bama, we can beat anyone.

We are not getting in nor do we deserve to. Ga,Ohio St and TCU would all Boatrace us with how our horrible our D is.

We should still get in before LSU or Bama. If voters really watched the uga game, they know it was much closer than the score. We’re still more attractive than a lot of one loss teams.
