There is so much roster movement for all teams nowadays that you really can't draw many conclusions about the prospects for the next year until at least after the post-spring portal period closes and you have a 98% idea who has returned or has transferred where.
Tennessee's approach to NIL appears to be focused on player retention. We haven't had as much attrition as other programs. I have to believe that NIL has been a big part of that.

I think Mincey always planned to be back. Campbell was a surprise.

People don’t realize, Heupel is quietly building one of the better Olines in the country through recruiting as well. This class is really good and we could land the top uncommitted OT in the country tonight. Tennessee has had some really high quality Olinemen on campus the past couple of recruiting cycles.
Yup. This is what Georgia did to get to their present position as well. And it was what made Fulmer a success as well. Get those quality “big uglies” in sufficient depth and your program can’t help but be competitive. Football has changed so much over the last few decades; but one central truth still remains; you win or lose in the trenches

White is a good player, but we need at least 1 playmaker at WR
White is a true receiver. He puts his nose in there to block but he just isn’t big enough like Bru. Bru would bully DBs and get our receivers extra room to operate on the outside flat routes

However, even when he was blown up, White would get back in there and try to block just as hard each time. Never shied away from the contact.

Which OT is making their decision tonight?

Spraggins' draft stock has dropped, and he is listed as the 330 draft prospect. Mincey comes in at number 388 and McCoy is 394. Mays and Pili would be listed as past 400.
Keep in mind, Mr. Irrelevant was draft position 259. Trying to get into the NFL would be a major risk for the players you mentioned. Next season would bring an opportunity to improve and perhaps get drafted, instead of hoping to catch on as an undrafted free agent.

So what you're saying is playing at UT is not helping these guys football career? Thanks.

Mincey is just a body on the OL. We need to have a better answer for his spot. I just watched the Vandy game and he just flat out whiffed a few times. Maybe the answer is Seaton

Seaton makes a decision this week. A lot of smoke around the vols. Would be the second top ten OT committed and the highest uncommitted OT left. Probably puts Tennessee having one of the best if not the best Oline hauls this year. Even without him it’s a great class.

White is more explosive than Matthews.

And not that far behind Hyatt.
I hate to be "that guy" but I have a hard time seeing it. He's shifty, but I don't recall seeing him run away from defenders. He did make two of the most spectacular catches of the year. But I don't think he has close to Hyatt-level speed on the field. Never seen Matthews play, so idk about him.

gotta get a portal WR who has made plays. Thornton was somewhat of a project. A Juice Wells or Wash St WR guy is preferred. If Bru came back, that would allow Tennessee to play different WR sets. Need to play more people at WR going forward.

DL coming back would be huge also. Big O appears to be and Norman-Lott may return. If Baron decides to stay another year, I hope he wears The Right Orange.

Yes. Thursday. My concern is with Campbell Jr coming back, does that sway Seaton's decision. He says he's plug and play and is looking for immediate PT. OSU can offer him that. Can we? Do we?

He talked very highly of Campbell every time he’s been here. I would imagine they plug him in at OG if possible and he’s the heir apparent at LT if he’s as good as he looks to be. I think Campbell returning helps not hurts us.

He would have to compete at any of these schools to play as a true freshman Ohio State, Bama, Florida, Oregon. All of those he’s not getting given a starters spot. I think he’s smart enough to recognize that.

Bru is the only one that is a question I think. If I were an NFL team, I'd love to have a physical WR who will willingly block and make contested catches with his speed. It depends on how he's recovering from his injury.
Bru is similar to Juan Jennings and Jennings went late.... Think he would have been a 4th or 5th rounder before his injury... I think he needs to come back and prove he's recovered and be more productive... But also Jennings has had a solid career so far and a solid part in that 49er offense

How many of these return:
Mays
Spraggins
Mincey
McCoy
Pili

anybody have any inside information on any of them and how they are leaning about returning or not?
Not sure about Mincey and McCoy but Pili, Campbell, Mays and probably Spraggins are coming back.

OL looks much better than it did just a few weeks ago.

Might not want to put all your eggs in the Pili basket. Remember, just because he applies for a medical doesn't mean the NCAA will grant it. Even if they do, I'd bet the farm that they'll slow play him and cost him the first 2 or 3 games of the season next year. He'll definitely miss the NC St. game. Just the way the NCAA deals with us. If he played for bama, he'd be eligible in 24 hours. One thing is for sure, they'd better make a decision and get the paperwork in asap. Gonna need every single day.

Fair point but Medical Redshirts are not on the same timeline as transfer waivers. I would be willing to bet he has an answer before Spring Practice
