Things built, torn down and other projects.(Pictures)

I buy all dewalt for battery usage.
Any of the big brands are fine
dewalt
Regged (free batteries for life)
Milwaukee
Ect.

Stay away from Ryobi.
There’s a good deal on a Dewalt set. We’ll probably go with that. Thanks!

I used to swear by Craftsman, but then they seemed to get wonky a while back. Glad to know they’re back.

Does Kobalt count as a big brand? Because they’re purdy and all

Kobalt is under contract to be sold at lowe’s. Sort of like Ridgid at Home Depot. I know guys who use them professionally and have not complained about them. I don’t really know much beyond that.

3/4 of this forum are gonna want to kill me for suggesting this (forgive me @Orangeslice13 ), but I am a huge fan of 99 percent of the Ryobi tools. For piddling non-pros like me, they do well. The 18 volt tools have done everything well that I've tackled this far.

For the pro set, MAKITA is my fav.
Lol, not 3/4 of this forum, just Slice.

I'll go ahead and start with my opinion shouldn't count because my only experience was helping my best friend part time in his General R&M business for a couple of years while I attended skew. He used mostly Dewalt but had other brands which I used. Lol, obviously he used what he though were best and gave me the crap. My favorite screw guns were Bosch, but I liked the Ryobi too. I only remember using the screw guns, but for what I used them for they were great.

I compare this to discussing garlic presses with a foodie. Imma battery "tool foodie".

My DeWalt tools have stood the test of use over time.
After spending way too much time last night when I should have been packing, I picked out a DeWalt set (driver, charger, and two 4.0 Ah batteries) that looked good, and Hubs vetoed due to cost. 🙄 Back to the drawing board.

I’m guessing that we can get by with 2 Ah or less, as it’s pretty dang unlikely he’ll spend half the day assembling a lumber rectangle. At least I hope not.

Everything Kobalt that I have used (power tool-wise) has broken in a couple of months. To me they are trash. Had a Kobalt shovel once too just to dig out dirt for a fire pit. A big chunk of the tip of it broke off the first day of use... in dirt...

Damn. That sucks
The only Kobalt tool I own is a hammer that I bought on clearance. The damn thing bings like a tuning fork every time you hit it

Bosch is the most expensive and will take an absolute beating.
They make high in tools. Ryobi is the Teflon coated tin pan of the contractor world.

Yeah we've talked about it before. He bought me a set of Bosch (screw driver and impact driver). I love them so much I hate to use them. Lol. Seriously, I do love them.

Absolutely. If I ever invest in a screw gun or a hammer drill, Bosch is it.
