Anyone have a know a reasonable window company? Ive got one thats spiderwebbing & i think its just time to replace them all. Had renewal by anderson come out last week & give me a quote. For 12 windows, they quoted me at $46k

Wow! I don't know much about what that should cost, but that sounds crazy!

Bet it was Andersen Replacement…

We got a quote for windows. We learned to like the existing ones a lot more once we saw that....

Would love to keep what we have, but we’re starting to have issues. nothing major, other than the one thats cracked, neighbor kid shot one with a bb gun a few yrs ago( not on purpose). Plus there so old, they’ve lost that gas that is in between the 2 pane’s, so they’re not really keeping the heat out/cool in

@Orangeslice13 and the rest of all y’all

I thought about putting this in the gardening thread, but I figured it might get more eyes here.

I’m getting ready to create a pollinator garden bed in a long strip along the side road of our property. (It will look like pretty much nothing at all this year, of course.) I want to solarize - kill off current grass plus weed seeds - the area first with clear plastic.

The stuff I see online is 6 mil vs 3 mil (and one 1.5 mil) “construction film” and plastic sheeting. I’d like it to handle a month to six weeks of intense sun, plus occasional incursions by leashed dogs and their idiot owners, and then be able to fold it up and reuse in the future for similar garden starts.

Any opinions/ advice about 6 vs 3 vs 1.5 mil? Thanks! 1654088216121.gif
