Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (AIWS): Symptoms & Treatment
I’m assuming it was his mom who identified it. How did she know? Was he saying that suddenly the dog was gigantic or why did his arm get small or something l that? He seems to be kind of a little guy to be able to report symptoms on his own.

Lord knows, I would be freaking out, whether I were the patient or the parent!

think we freaked out more than his parents.

he tfirst related symptoms to his dad when he told M that he was changing shapes, and his mom, who interned in pediatrics and psychiatry was able to identify what was going on with him. she's been amazed at how well he relates symptoms to doctors, and when he told the woman who cuts what he had experienced she told him she had been affected by those symptoms after a serious illness as a child.

no idea yet about next step
only know he's having super time in kindergarten and at home

MRI of the brain can be entertaining for weirdos like me, but otherwise a lot of adults also need a little sumthin to tolerate it.
when i had first mri -- the day after i had been admitted for stroke symptoms -- i asked techn[cian why i hadnt been given meds before procedure,

she said we didnt ' cause i would need to drive home' ...and i was in hospital gown and had been wheeled in!!!!

Ha, classic clueless hospital-based tech. Sheesh

I’ve never had one when I was acutely ill and worried. Just diagnostic exams for annoying symptoms. I describe it as sitting blindfolded on a stage surrounded by 8-10 drummers, all with their own drum sets, and listening while they have a giant drum competition. The different rhythms and pitches are fascinating, but boy howdy is it LOUD! (Irony being that one of the reasons I had one was for hearing loss and ringing in my ear. Well, duh.)

My tinnitus is as if an explosion just went off nearby every moment. Meditative discipline helps me to cope.
I only have it in my right ear (or if it’s on the left too, the right drowns it out.)

Mine sounds like a swarm of periodic cicadas hatching and buzz/screaming. The ones that send dogs barking and howling for 3-4 weeks. Except that it’s 24/7/365.

What? Did you say something?

You spent time in the right seat of a twin engine airplane, I suspect.
