Things I'm mad about today

GenZer wearing earbuds on an electric scooter weaving in and out pedestrians, cyclists, and skaters on a busy pathed pathway bumps into a woman from behind, causing her to stumble and fall onto a baby’s stroller, freaking out the mom. GenZer looked to be late teens/early 20s and should know better than to treat others like orange cones while zipping around, listening to music.

*bleeping* scammers. I noticed a transaction for nearly 500 bucks. We called the bank and they are gonna refund the money, but we have to have our accounts renumbered and get new debit cards. This is an ACH debit scam so they had our routing and acct number. Not sure where the info got pilfered from. My guess is one of our utility bills because those are all we pay directly from the bank acct. We rarely write paper checks anymore and only locally. I googled the transaction name and it seems it is a national scam with victims in several states from Washington to Georgia.

Check thefts from mailboxes isn’t just for washing the pilfered check. Using the routing and account numbers to steal electronically are bigger issues.
