Cool Story Bro.....

So, about 11:30 this morning, my wife gets a call from the "sheriff's office". They told her she had missed a federal grand jury date and that she had an arrest warrant out on her. This chit came at us so fast we really didn't have time to think. They wanted 3.8k in federal fines, etc. Long story short, it scared the chit out of us and turned out to be a scam. Wish I could find that awhole. He wouldn't wake up the next day.

What clued you in that it was a scam? And how did you confirm?

My neighbor is a police detective and called the guy he claimed to be. They are using real names from the sheriff's department. The Lt confirmed it was a scam. Once we had time to think, there was no way a missed jury duty date would have been a warrant, they couldn't recover the money at the sheriff's department, etc. Once you think about it, it's an obvious scam but the come on was fast and straight forward and the initial call was from a sheriff's dept phone number.
