do you mean Hair of the Dog?

Also, chattanooga billiards club downtown is a good place if you want a nice place to drink a beer or any kind of drink you may like. if you go there head upstairs and tommy should be behind the bar. he is the best bartender i have ever come across. also if you want some food there ask for susan. she is the kitchen manager and a close friend of mine. hope you enjoy your stay here.

I second CBC. I've had a few nice nights there.

I like the terminal brewhouse as well. I had some excellent food at hair of the dog although it's a 21 and up smoking allowed venue. Even though I don't smoke and don't like being around smoking in an enclosed area I'd go back there and suffer through it for the food.

Sorry OP, I wouldn't recommend any restraunts out near Hamilton Place. Downtown is a different story. Almost can't go wrong downtown.

If it hasn't been mentioned, Cheeburger Cheeburger on Market St. is a great place for burgers, fries and milkshakes. It's always our last stop before we head back home.

Check out the Honest Pint. Same owners at the Terminal and Hair Of The Dog. And they have a non-smoking area, that offers a more relaxed/less noisy bar atmosphere. And they've got the best Reuben in town, hands down. It's slightly trickier to find than the other two, since it's not on Market St. But the way it's set up, parking there is a lot less of a headache than if you're at Hair.

Hair of the Dog is a great place to grab a brew but parking is such a pain in the butt.

The smoked sausage boxty sounds good. I have a hard time passing up a boxty or a pastie. I'll be there in October for the UTC Mercer game and will check it out.

Definitely downtown is your best bet for good food/bars/etc. Definitely go to Nikki's if you can, local legend. It's just across the river from downtown. If you must stay out by the mall, J. Alexander's is good (similar to Houstons, which we don't have in Chattanooga). There's also a Bonefish Grill (obviously a chain, though). There is a CBC (Chattanooga Billiards Club) out in the mall area, in addition to the one downtown, good place for pool obviously.

Now that I think about it, there's a Sticky Fingers and Big River Grill by the mall too, both have good food. The bar at Big River is usually much busier than the one at SF. I would also second the recommendation of Ankar's Hoagies - incredible food. They have a location just a few minutes from the mall.

There used to be a really good Italian place just off the Moore road exit, in a shopping center near the old movie theater. Since the passing of my grandparents, I haven't been in years. Anyone know the place?

Provino's? Went there on my birthday cause I felt like I deserved the rolls. :) The salad, rolls, and Cannelloni Del Mar (pasta stuffed with lobster, scallops and shrimp in rosatella sauce).

Provinos is definitely good. If you like pizza, there is a Luppi's not far from the mall too.

Yea, that's the problem. I can drive downtown in 15ish mins, but that's with little traffic and then gotta find parking etc. also, I can't drink as much if I'm driving back a decent way. I wish some more of the good restaurants were spread out a bit more, but I understand why they are where they are

I know where Ankars is, will try that sometime soon!

might have to try that! read about Luppi's online (can't remember if it was yelp, urbanspoon, or the like). thanks

I second the Privino's recommendation. I had forgotten that place. It is great for family style dining. A couple of dishes can serve 4 or more.

hey noogans, I need some restaurant recomendations please!

I know of some downtown, but I'm staying in an apartmant about 15 mins east of downtown near the Hamilton mall (and I don't want to always drive downtown to get some good food).

any good places out there? I prefer something I can't eat in every other city if possible (no Macaroni Grill, Chilis, etc)

There is a greek place right by the mall that's pretty good.

Also a Ruth's Chris stakehouse
