Things will look totally different Saturday

For the last four or five games in a row, we have faced top 10 teams with mostly top 10 talent, maybe not Mizzou, however this Saturday we face the first team in a long time that we "should" beat. I think Saturday we will look like a completely different team. Just for the fact that we may actually have more talent than Vanderbilt. I see us winning this one by 10-17 points. It won't be easy but I do think we see more explosive plays more domination in the trenches and better QB play simply because of less talent of the opposing team. I hope I am right because a loss Saturday or even not looking better as a team than we have the last 6 weeks will be discouraging.

Both Vandy and UT have more raw talent than Mizzou.

Unless the defensive coaching and playcalling improve substantially... Saturday may be another disappointing game.

The reason we lost some of those tough games earlier this year was NOT a difference in talent level but rather a difference in player execution. Wide receivers left WIDE OPEN in the end zone is a busted play, not a difference in talent. Illegal motion penalties are not a difference in talent but rather bonehead players failing to concentrate on the snap count.

I certainly want to see a W this week but it is not going to be a different game w/o UT playing much better than they have for the last month.

Execution is mostly a function of coaching unless players are flat out physically unable to do it. This roster is not unable.

you are right sjt,the Vols have to win or sit at home and wonder what if,for CBJ to make his bold statement and do it are 2 different things, i said they are are a 6 win team this year and i hope they make it,they will need a kick ass game to get a sfot

It is really sad when a good fan says they need a "kick ass game" to beat Vandy or UK... when those teams have significantly less raw talent than UT.

You might not have realized how much of a shot at this staff that post was.

our team that is not very deep was exhausted after playing UGA, USCe, Bama, Mizzery, Auburn....

don't mistake this for lack of effort

This is right on, if anybody has played and had to play 3 dominating teams in a row when youre rebuilding it takes a toll. You want to go hard and feel like you are but you're beat down. We played 5 in a row,showed up pretty good on the 1st 2 but ran out of gas. I think the bye week will put us back ala USCe game.

After reading this thread and all the others the last few week I've concluded that at the end of Saturday this place will be:

Win = CBJs fault
Loss = Dooley's fault
