Some ppl aren’t happy until everyone is as miserable as they are. What they fail to realize is if we were shown this record at the start of the year and told we would beat Alabama and Florida they would take it in a heartbeat.

Let’s flip the script. What if at the beginning of the season, you were shown that we would get destroyed by a mediocre SC team? How would you have responded? Every true Vol fan has the right to be disgusted and embarrassed by what was put on the field last night. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad season or that Heupel sucks.

There are no fair weather fans left, dude.
I tried to explain to a non college football fan why I was so joyous after the Bama win and so dejected now after the Columbia debacle. Why a grown, mostly rational, man could feel so deeply about something that wasn’t directly related to me (like having a family member on the team). But, I couldn’t adequately describe it without it sounding like Im part of a cult. Maybe I am. During some of our worst seasons, I’ve tried to quit or scale back my interest in the Vols, but I never really could. I’m addicted to them. For better or worse. Almost like an abusive relationship where you are kind of codependent. Anyway, I’m no fair weather fan. Though it would be better for my emotional health if I was.
im sure many here, especially those over 40, can understand.
