This CBS Sports article says SEC attendence is lagging

Maybe someone said this already, I skipped ahead, but I predict the conference has record attendance this year. 2012 saw 4 major programs with fan dissatisfaction and Coaches losing jobs, fans stayed away in protest. UT, ARK, UK, AUB will be back, plus Jonny football will lead to sellout crowds wherever he plays. BAMA, LSU, OLE MISS all riding high. Even vandy is doing better. Anyway, that's how I see it.

i think you are right - I see last year's number (which was only 1,400 off of the alltime high btw) as more reflective of DD being at the helm of UT - it is the SEC's largest stadium so when butts aren't in those seats its going to have a greater than 1 in 14 effect on SEC seating

Hmmmmm. Let me see. 61" HD (crap, I'm already sounding like babyavi) & a wife who will do the same thing but I still go to the games - the atmosphere is just better (I can't explain why; it just is for me). Granted I'm a 5 minute drive by boat and have the luxury of skipping all the traffic before and after the game.

Come up for a game this year, fade. You guys can stay with us and we'll boat to the game. It's on me.

if he dont, i will. I will drive the 9 (like ive done many times) and ill even bring the bait.....:good!:

The Colts went thru this about 4-5 years ago when the economy went south, they create a better Fan experience by adding a WI-FI "THAT WORKS" for all phones inside the stadium. They increased the about for game shown on the 4 Big screens in the stadium so you don't miss highlights of other games, and created a APP that lets you see all of the game day statics as they are computed. see below.

They said last year they increased the WI_FI in Neyland but by kickoff it was lock with the amount of users

a lot of good points being made. The overall, combined decline wasn't significant. But, to us vols fans, it is certainly noticeable when Neyland Stadium only has 85k or 90k in it.

I think there will always be some that say the price is too high.

We're still getting over 100k for big games, at least early in the year. I do think getting over 100k for the scrub games will be tough, except the season opener which should be a sell out.

Winning and a coach that fans are supporting will fill the Neyland Stadium.

I drive down from Indianapolis for a game or two every year. Since I only get to see one or two, I always pick a big game. Typically either UF or UGA depending on the year. Unfortunately that means I've seen a lot of losses as of late. But, the overall weekend, tailgating, vol walk, the band...all worth it.

Go Vols!

Perfect storm of the HDTV era, slow economic recovery and a growing number of students who'd rather Tweet/Facebook/text about the game than attend the game.

high prices, bad economy, mediocre schedule + 70 inch LED HD TV = big drop in attendance
