This dumpster fire of a program

Why? Because they let up after a big lead? There were a lot of positives today and you saw some young guys like Corey Vereen step up and make plays at the end.

If Tennessee were to end up in a dog fight with UGA late, the experience today could actually be beneficial late in the game. It just depends on how you look at it.

Anytime you have a team the level of SAL in the ball game till the end you have to second guess yourself, teammates, and or coaches. It's human nature.

You might be right, and it's apparently human nature for fans, but I'd be surprised if these guys had lost confidence in themselves today after a win. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't believe they would just forget how they played in the fist half or how they fought and held on at the end.

It's not like they battled us for 60 minutes or physically dominated us. We turned the ball over and fell asleep after we thought we had the game won, up by 24.

Just to be clear, I don't think players, coaches or fans should be happy about today.

So, we need to hit the recruiting trail to find 5* fans?

I am a fan agent and I have got a line on a couple of up and comers...they are fanning HS now, both seniors, but both are real fanners. I think at least one is going to state. All the kid does is fan.

I can't make any promises, but if you slip me a little something I think I can put their butts in your seats next year.

I accept both Taco Bell and Western Union.

Let me put it another way.... Do think if the Vols had finished the game in the second half like they did in the first, do you think they would have felt better about next week? Carry more momentum into next week?

I've seen it with several TN teams over the years. Its a good lesson about not letting up without costing us a win.

So no one should be happy about how we played today, but you don't think our players should have lost any confidence? Especially after watching tape of how Georgia beat LSU? Brilliance........

Come on Freak.

Why is it you can discuss weaknesses and areas the need improvement? The same people who diss these posters are the same ones who said Dooley needs another year.

Will never recover because the fans don't realize how far we have fallen.

It will take 3-5 years to play with the LSU's and the Georgia's.

This fan base is so ridiculous it almost drives me away. I don't have a clue how we recruit with all these negative posts on this board.

Go Vols and Go CBJ

Step away man. It's not worth it.

Since we're playing the blame game, I'm going with orange pads around the goalposts. The last really, really good team UT has was in 2001 and the pads were white.

The orange pads have been there since 2002. Coincidence? I think not.

Sound good, if I have to bury chicken bones I'll try that if it changes the mojo!

Ridiculous.....

We all know that it's the curse of Rohan Davey that haunts UT to this day.

It's unrealistic to expect anything other than vocal, widespread negativity from a passionate fanbase sick of watching a once-proud program look like a blooper reel. Six years of new records being set to the downside and 4* players looking like they're auditioning for "C'Mon Man" makes even realistic fans lose patience. This isn't rebuilding; it's a program in free fall.

I get your point, I just don't think it makes that much difference as long as we win. It should be a learning experience and give them some things to work on this week. Either way, I just don't think a team with the holes we have can put to much into momentum via margin of victory. It didn't seem to help us against Oregon.

Come on Freak.

So you think us giving up some late points after leading by 24, is going to hurt us against UGA? I don't think it makes any difference at all. As I posted above, we pounded Western Kentucky pretty convincingly and I don't see how it made much difference against Oregon. We have too many issues to ride any confidence that closing out S. Alabama would have given us.

I really believe the players are just happy to get the win and I don't believe their confidence is shaken at all from a poor showing in the second half. We were the better team and proved it in the first half. We went up 24 and lost focus. It happens. Again, just my opinion.
