Almost as bad as those fools flopping in soccer. Something needs to be done about it, not sure of what that answer is. Possibly needing to sit out longer than 1 play? Not sure an entire quarter is the answer, but it needs to be longer than one play for certain. You can't hang with an up-tempo offense, then get a new DC.
LFG Big Orange, get those cigars ready and beat the hell out of Alabummer!

We faked an injury last night that gave them more time to review the catch and overturn the call. It sucks but I understand why teams do it if it’s allowed

We also faked an injury on the goal line right before the Pearce Jr. strip sack fumble that changed the game. I don’t like the fake injuries at all, but we use it to our advantage as well.

I got a way to stop it. Change the rule to if you get an injury you cannot sub for the injured player for 1 down......so If you go down you have to play with 10 for 1 play.

Everyone does it. It won’t stop until they change the rules. The key is to have an offense that can be effective going slow or fast.

This! Coaches need to coach understanding this is going to happen. We even do it.

if play has to be stopped for a player injury, the player should be required to go to the locker room and be given a thorough exam before being allowed to come back in to the game. im talking rubber gloves, going in deep, thorough

Yep, we did it twice last night. Norman-Lott on the goal line and one of our DB’s late in the game. Something has to be done about it.

Having said that, Ole Miss is still the Flop King. Nobody else comes close.

then every team that's behind wont play football, they'll only go for injuries so they have a man advantage. Great idea, Dr Football

We are guilty of this strategy as well. Until the rule changes with consequences it will continue throughout the country for the entire year. You will see it playoff games as well. My understanding that the rules committee is made up of coaches not NCAA administrators.

I had heard that Ole Miss is so blatant about it on purpose because they want the rule changed. The worst part about us doing it is the heart palpitations it gives me thinking we have lost someone to an injury. LFG Big O, get them cigars ready and beat the hell out of Bama!

Simple….player has to stay out for remainder of that set of downs. If he’s really hurt, wouldn’t be back that quick anyway

Are we still faking injuries after every extra point?
But pushing a player on to the field for a dive to save a penalty is why there will be a rule change next change. That was egregious and the worst abuse of the rule I have seen yet.

The answer is so simple and logical that they'll never do it. The "injured" player has to sit out the rest of the possession. That "protects" the player, which addresses the "safety" issue, and will make teams think twice about the risk of losing a player for the possession. Just the series isn't enough to keep it from happening.

It makes way too much sense for these brainiacs, so they'll come up with some convoluted solution. If they even address it.
