This has been a good year

Tends are a composition of linear points. And again, you can pick any frame of reference you want to try to make an irrelevant point. But this program is NOT headed in the right direction.

The program has had three of the highest rated recruits in history signed in consecutive years. It might could be a trend.

Unfortunately that doesn’t always equate to results... exhibit A has been the bungling of this season despite our highest rated class ever... does it really matter if we had 2 five stars if they are one and done and our veterans can’t lead us past the first round?

Since you are moving the goal posts to “current” trends, you should maybe consider the effect of certain factors. How about a global PANDEMIC.

Moving the goal posts? You’re the one who shifted to talking about recruiting rankings... you’re unbelievable buddy. And every team playing this year has had to deal with the pandemic. We are far from being the most effected team by the Pandemic.

The ironic thing about your postings is that with your obsession about “trends are not linear” is that if you simply drew a line between the day Barnes started and where we are today you would actually have a better argument. The thing about trends is it matters what direction you’re heading in...and we are headed down. I really don’t know how you could argue otherwise

You moved these goal posts with your example of a trend.

As far as “every team playing this year has had to deal with the pandemic”... NOT equally. How many coaches had Corona. That should narrow the group of those affected considerably. So does the lack of experience in the rotations.

Look up my narrative on the same point that you just made. Bud.

You mean the coach that had Coronavirus BEFORE the season? You can’t be serious

And I just told you that we have not had nearly as many issues with COVID as other programs... it’s a lame excuse even by your standards “bud”

You love citing the extreme short term for your trashing of the trend. The program is riding a significant upward trend. TN finished ranked 8x in 39 years and 2 of those belong to Barnes. The number of weeks as #1 is 400% under Barnes than it ever was in program history. You could quantify recruiting by plotting star ratings and will see another positive trend. You can run numbers on the SECT results and see a very obvious plotted line sloping upward. In the NCAAT Wade, KO, Buzz, and ButterBean Donnie never made the tournament. Before the but, but Bruce... he cheated, he lied, his flawed character resulted in a major downward trend in the program.

Lots of evidence of positive trends with the program. Sorry that you fail to see it.

Nope, just a reminder for you that you cannot exclude the last two seasons when you define what the programs trend is. Because yet again I tell you, a trend is largely determined by what direction you are headed in. And we are not tending in the right direction. I didn’t say there wasn’t any positives with the program “bud”. But, I mean by your definition we were trending in the right direction under Fulmer when he was fired

I also hope you realize that the vast majority of the “positives tends” within the program are clustered within 2 years of having Grant and Admiral as upperclassman leaders. Our trend is more of an upside down U than a rising tide and we look like we are on the downward slope

13-0 in 1998. Losing seasons in 2005 and 2008. Recruiting slipping. Putting fewer players in the NFL. Unable to make decent hires. That’s not my definition of trending up, Pal.

Please... Texas AM, Scarj, Florida say hi... and that’s just the SEC...please try harder
If a coach isn’t sick enough to be in the hospital it should affect his team’s performance way less than not having key players in the floor. That’s why your “start with googling coaches who have had COVID themselves” line is irrelevant. There are so many programs have had it worse than us... please try to argue this.... I’ll wait bc I’m sure it will entertain...
