Here we are, already to the Third Saturday in October. This has to be one of the weirdest instances of this game in a long time.

On paper, Bama has the talent advantage like most instances of this rivalry in recent years. However, their last 2 games have really not been good football. SCAR played mistake ball and still hung with them until the end there in a position to win. Bama fans are certainly not happy right now.

Same situation for us. Our last two games have been pretty poor for the offense, but pretty good for our defense. We are 6 points from being 6-0, but nobody is really happy with how we have played recently.

The kicker here is that the winner this weekend gets to keep their CFP hopes alive, while the loser is basically out of it unless they win out in a big way.

Is either team going to figure it out and play complimentary football? Or will we see two zombie teams play 60 minutes of sicko football?

No more Nick Saban should help.

The way these two teams have mirrored each other the last two weeks is striking. In some ways, the losses to Vandy and Hogs, respectively, make this game more consequential than it would have been if we were both 6-0.

Fork in the road for both teams, and particularly in Bama’s case, it could be a fork in the road for the program itself. The loser of this game could be staring down the barrel of 8-4. The winner could roll out of this one, continue to improve, and contend for a championship.

This is the wildest season of my adult life.

Saban will definitely be helping them gameplan i bet. He knows Heupel’s system well. Miltoe will be by far the best QB UT has faced all year. Will be a tough game. Just hard to have a tom of confidenece as awful as Nico has been.

Milroe is sort of like Green who we already faced, but Green played a statistically better game against us than he has all season. Can’t have that on Saturday, but I can imagine it will be tough as Banks will want to force Zone instead of Man because Milroe will toast you with his legs if he gets green grass and our guys are way back chasing receivers in Man.

Milroe seems to do best on designed runs instead of improvising scrambles. He sits in the pocket too long sometimes and gets sacked enough to make them beatable.

If Saban is helping the current staff gameplan, Deboer better call the moving company now. That is not healthy.

I am concerned that preseason, our Oline was terrible overrated by almost everyone. We have a lot of experience, but their talent has not measure up to expectations. This has hampered our offense and caused some problems for our talented, but inexperienced QB. He has had problems adjusting to having to gain experience while under duress and unfortunate conservative play calls that our Oline has failed execute. Being aggressive on first can relieve the pressure of so many second and long plays,. . .

Our tackle situation is unfortunate and I just don’t know how it will improve unless we keep rolling Nico out away from the left side edge rusher.

Rest of the line seems okay enough.

Our best Oline play has been at center and left tackle. Right tackle play has been executable and good enough to hold win most games.

My blatantly obvious keys to this game 1-stop milroe in the run game 2-hammer Ryan Williams early 3-pound the rock

Good - I work with a couple of Bama grads and they are hearing that Saban hanging around the program may actually be hurting the product on the field.
Players are torn between listening / playing Saban's style of ball and the new guy.
For me, I hope it's true and it sets them back decades...

It is probably the weirdest TSIO in 20 plus years.
Both teams not performing near to expectation.
We're ranked close to where we should be, I think, but Bama is still a little too high...they should be 10th at the highest.
