Surely you're not too dumb to realize that. You do know that he coaches at...VANDY, right?

Back to back bowl games and a huge rivalry win over UT is plenty good enough. Because at UT he will have a larger recruiting budget, better facilities, better players, more money for assistants, better program tradition, better everything.

Giving those resources, he could go from 4th to 1st.

Consider no other names.....Jonny Gruden is the MAN!! Many feel if we dont get GRUDEN our Football will never recover. Orange color closets are bad for your health. Im convinced 30% of our fan base is ****ing retard's.

Didn't beat a team with a winning record this year. Beat us while we are in the midst of the worst 3 years in over 100 years of football. He didn't have a winning record against Dooley, not many coaches can say that.

Did you run out of valid reasons to dislike Franklin, so you're only left with the fact that he coaches somewhere else and "stumps"?

Last time I checked almost every coach we're after coaches somewhere else. So why don't you go cheer for TCU, FSU, Louisville, or Oklahoma.... idiot.

He was 1-1 against Dooley. Sure he didn't beat a team with a winning record, but guess what...when they were winning 1-4 games a year, they were losing to teams with losing records. Now they're beating those teams.

To pretend he hasn't completely turned that program around in almost no time at all, is atrocious.

If you read into the hype and media, Dave Hart has only interviewed Gundy and Strong...Volquest mentioned Hart was "supposedly" going to interview Jimbo F. sometime Monday. Gruden was a pipe dream and nothing more. He wanted to assemble an NFL staff but Hart is playing with food stamp money thanks to that re-re Hamilton.

Vince Lombardi could rise from the dead and this crowd would go ballistic because he didn't have college head coach experience. Give it a break, let the powers that be get us a coach and be a VFL and support him and our team.

If people fear a bad hire and losing, how do they not care about the program? If anything, they care too much about the program and are desperate to see the team be relevant again. Face it, we're not relevant at the moment unless someone is telling a joke. 27 loses in the last 4 seasons. Please forgive us for worrying about another lame duck coach.

Fwiw, 1. Gundy 2. Fedora 3. Strong. And by 3, I mean shoot me if that happens. Will be 3 more years of scraping by Troy, UAB and probably losing to Wyoming.

James Franklin was the beneficiary of historically weak SEC schedule. Franklin defeated exactly ZERO teams with a winning record including all of his non-conference opponents.

In the SEC, the 5 victories came against teams with a combined 6 wins and 34 losses...averages out to about a 1-7 record.

Including non-conference teams, they defeated teams with a combined record of 29-66.

Yes, he can get it done if he gets to play a bunch of 1-7 SEC teams. Plus, recall that the victory over Missouri came when their QB got hurt in the first half, and Missouri had just suspended 3 or 4 players just a couple of days before they played.

So, given that set of circumstances, I guess you can say Franklin can get it done.

4th in the SEC east with Vandy's resources. Are you really dumb enough not to get that? Look at his record at Vandy compared to Saban's first two years at Michigan St. What's more impressive to you, 6-6 at MI ST or 8-4 at Vandy?
