My question is, why would a top notch coach, who is already at a top 15 program come to this train wreck and try to fix it for maybe just a little more money? Face it people, there are 0 big name hires that will be coming here. The best we can hope for is a Charlie Strong type of hire.

Yea, I'll be patient. Its been 5 years since we played decent football what's a couple more. Gundy, Strong are good coaches from what we can tell. Think we would be ok with either one of those guys. Even a good coach has to get his share of elite talent here to compete with LSU, Alabama and Florida. The question is what one of the two can recruit this talent? My guess would be Strong is the better recruiter. What the heck was Hamilton thinking when he hired Dooley? Really even Kiffin was never a head coach in college before Tennessee and had a losing record in the pro's so he was a bad hire to.

Seem to recall a few years back reading that Charlie Strong, while with good credentials, was a "poor interview". Dunno, just wondering. I know his strength is defense, but Louisville lost to Syracuse & gave up lotsa points in some games this year. James Franklin? Not gonna happen...if it did, lotsa Vol fans (like me) would pack it in.

Well I agree with him. There is not a top notch coach that would want to take on this train wreck right now. There is a short pool of coaches maybe 10 that are considered top notch and they are not coming to Tennessee.

You dont have to be a homer to be a fan.

To pretend he hasn't completely turned that program around in almost no time at all, is atrocious.
