This is how a national championship caliber team looks..

You’re equating stating facts with complaining. Congrats. I have little to no complaints with the NCST win. Other than Pearce getting neutralized again and the OL getting beat on the pick 6.
You stated nico isn’t heisman level which is an opinion, one most disagree with mind you. Receivers didn’t get separation by design of the d nc state ran. Hence we ran it down their throat. Pierce being “neutralized” is due to being schemed against and it opens the door for the rest of the line to feast and feast we did

Hate this attitude. We saw it in 2022.
“Well it’s just Pitt, wait til Florida.”
“Well it’s just Florida, wait til LSU.”
“Well LSU isn’t that good, wait til Bama.”

Not going to “chill” and wait until the season’s halfway gone to be excited. It’s a short portion of the year that we get to cheer our Vols.

If only we could be excited without celebrating wins that we don’t have yet, we’d never look stupid.

The performance you just saw was a classic Alabama/Georgia type dominant performance along the lines of scrimmage. Nico and receivers didn't even play that well and we won by 40+ points against a ranked opponent.

The best stat for measuring a dominant team isn't actually scoring margin (which can be susceptible to turnovers) but rather yardage differential. Our yardage differential thru 2 games has to be one of the best in the country. We're not just winning games by a lot of points. We're literally not allowing our opponent to move the ball while moving the ball at will with our offense.

We can play with anyone in the country. We look like a national championship caliber team.
Still waiting for your predictions concerning Dobbs to come true.

I love the guy. Really do. Glad he may get an opportunity. Really am.

But you are ridiculous. Worse than ridiculous. Your credibility is summed up in your prediction that Dobbs would take Big Ben's job. That demonstrates the full extent of your knowledge of the game.

Let's pump the brakes and chill way the hell out until we beat a few teams that actually matter.
There were people before the season who thought NCSU "mattered". There were some saying that NCSU would be in it through the 4th qtr with a chance to win.

So when does a team actually "matter"? Only when they beat UT?

You make a fair point. The faulty logic is good teams don’t get whooped. UT whooped NCST, so NCST can’t be that good. That logic leads to every big win being meaningless.

But it’s also possible that NCST was a little overrated. Its OL looked lost. Its LBs looked lost. You have to give UT credit for making those things happen all game long, but we really don’t know how good NCST is. At worst, it’s a lopsided beat down against a solid P4 opponent on a neutral field. At best, NCST stays ranked and that win appreciates.

We have the best d-line in the country by a wide margin. A great offensive line. A heisman caliber QB. A starting NFL RB. And one of the deepest group of pass catchers in the country.

I don't see a weakness on this team.
Gilbert is also a solid kicker. Booted 3/4 FGs?

Florida is still the first test imo.
I know they suck, supposedly but they never do against Tennessee.

Oklahoma doesn’t have the horses to run with us

I agree with you. There’s no glaring weaknesses. I can’t remember a Vol team like this one

He was a Dobbs homer.

But he’s not wrong about this Tennessee team.

People aren't getting this. Their defense was good enuf after 1 series that Heup changed his offense(versatility plus) to a scheme that caused their strategy to fly back and beat them in the face.

Pounding the natty drum two games into the season after dismantling a mid ACC team is beyond premature. If we smoke OU at home, trash Florida, and head into the Bama game with no losses, we've got something.

I think that's a pretty reasonable position imo. Jmo. Jmho. Tfwiw. Dtaibai. Wtwttt. Etc.

The only issue I have when talking "weaknesses" is, assuming you're actually good in the first place, they don't get exposed unless you are playing someone good enough to push you.

For instance take high school Player X. This dude was simply bigger/stronger/faster than everybody he played. He didn't even have to push himself in the weight room or practice...he was just better. That all changed when he showed up for college and now he was surrounded by guys who were all studs like he was in HS. The competition matters in discovering what you may lack.

Now none of this means TN really isn't that good. (and considering where we are hoping they're that good) The point is do you think it reasonable the competition to this point has been good enough to even test our weaknesses? I'm pretty reticent to sign off on that just yet. I don't think I'm alone either. By the end of the night on the 21st we'll be much better situated to judge what we are/aren't.

Our front 7 is elite. Secondary is still not great. Nico isn’t a Heisman level QB. Those pass catchers failed to get consistent separation against a mid level ACC defense. Also to be fair we haven’t played a team with a good offense yet.

Just stop already.

You too need to quit drinking the cool aid and start drinking some brake fluid

I always love your enthusiasm for the Vols but your analysis are usually a little bit on the drinking the Orange Kool aid side. Carry on my friend
