UT tradition made absolutely no difference for the team this year. Hang your hat on what used to be and what may never will be again. Clemson fans are doing the same thing. They have lost the last FIVE years to USC and want to talki about what happened 100 years ago. Pathetic. Go Gamecocks. 11-2 Finished 4th in the nation and 2nd in the SEC THIS YEAR.

Success in college football is a cycle. Some teams cycles last longer than others. So it is with storied programs like USC (the real one), Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, et al. And so it is with programs whose "tradition" consists of the last 5 years, such as Boise State, Vandy, Fresno State, South Carolina, et al.

This is a good time to be a Gamecock fan. Enjoy your time in the sunshine.

For now, UT fans will just have to console themselves by staring at those SEC Championship trophies, and that crystal football.....

That and the fact that even though this was one of the best South Carolina teams is their history and one of the worst Tennessee teams in ours, we still managed to send them home crying with a loss. So our worst is still better than your best.

23 - 21...........yeah you're still mad. How does it feel to know that one of the greatest South Carolina teams in their history couldn't manage to beat this UT team. Pretty much sums up the fact that South Carolina will never really compete for the SEC championship, much less ever a National Title.

South Carolina football "tradition" consists of one ACC Championship (1969), one SEC East title (2010), and a 7 - 12 bowl record.

Much like the many of the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons, the hound has clearly bested the chicken in this episode.
