So our guards aren't as talented as alabamas or MTSU in your opinion?

I'm not saying you wrong, just curious...

I don't think our guards are as talented as Alabama's, or at least they haven't provided any evidence for me to think so.

As far as MTSU goes, they had the 4th highest field goal percentage in the nation during the regular season (.496). This is because they play in the Sun Belt Conference.

My point was that great guard play helps your field goal percentage exponentially. MTSU has GREAT guard play for the Sun Belt, which is why they shoot a high percentage.

Their guards aren't as good as ours (although they looked like it last night), they just play in a weak conference.

Of course, all of this is just my opinion.

I was about to say...

Their guards shot around 50% last night.

Much better than the 25% our guards shot.

I don't think their conference is the reason, I'd say their guards shot well against vandy and ole miss as well. It's just about making the open shots, and we simply dont do it.

Guards hit 41% against Ol' Miss, hit 50% against Vandy. So maybe it isn't completely because of the Sun Belt, but that certainly doesn't hurt.

Yea those are pretty impressive numvers. I bet our guards shot well in our wins as well, it seems like bad shooting nights were our losse mostly.

Hopefully this new commit helps.

It's frustrating when the most wide open looks don't even go through. This is an area I think Cuonzo can improve, though. A great deal has been made about how much he improved his own shooting while at Purdue. I think it's working with some of these guys already. We'll just have to see what the summer holds.

IMO.

This team needs a true PG, and a combo SG/SF. And either Yemi or Hall (if he's back) have to come on strong. If not we need another 6-8, 6-9 type player to go with what we have.

Right now McBee, McCrae, Richardson have too many liabilities in their games to be holding the minuets they do. They either have to pick up consistent production or see reduced minuets for this team to go to the next level.

Well you just got your wish on the combo guard, now on to that PG.

Agree, MTSU would beat Auburn and USCe and maybe a couple more in this conference. They shot well last not but they do one thing ours haven't learned yet. Cutting to the lane and getting layups makes your % look alot better than just setting and jacking up outside shots.
