no doubt but we are not the only program with these kinds of issues, and Fulmer did indefinitely suspend these guys until the facts play out , what else can he do?

I don't see any problem with giving some players second chances and maybe even a third to a select player or two. There is nothing wrong with a second chance. It just depends on what the players do with it. This is the second brawl that Schaeffer has been in....

Technically he wasn't in the first brawl..he was just at the club. :(

We are the only problem right now with 11 arrests at a constant rate....we need to clean it up

agreed way too much going on but I don't think the program is spiraling into the abyss and if the circumstances warrant it then send them packing, but you need to go through the process of investigating and getting all the facts before the beheadings begin, all I'm saying is they are handling the situation at hand the only way they can, do they need to make changes to help prevent these types of events YES!

I would hate to be the next knucklehead to get in trouble on our team.

I have a feeling the next one is going to get hung and quartered.

IMO, the worst thing is how people are gonna make comments about our program for a long time now. And I can only wonder what the guys at ESPN will have to say about this one.

This is definatley some rocky times in Vols Land but I'm still 100% proud to be a Vols fan. I think we just need to start being more careful on what type of athletes we recruit. It'll pass and the program will survive. :)

I DO hate ESucksPeeN, but there is an unfortunate amount of validity to the story. Until we can straighten up and ACT like champions, we don't have a snowball's chance in Miami of ever BEING champions. Fulmer is going to have to step up the discipline and be the "surrogate parent" to players who have either not recieved a proper upbringing or who fail to abide by what they have been taught.

This has been my point in many threads prior to now: athelete kids often come from neighborhoods marred by crime, gangs, drugs, and poverty. Many come from single (or NO) parent families. Many have had to fight for everything they have since they were young children. With coaching leadership comes the responsibility of being the "father figure" to those who need one. And, unfortunately, part of being a parent is being a disciplinarian. Without that, there is no respect; not for the "parent" (or coach), or the rules.

Sorry to say it, but it's time for one helluva spanking if you ask me. Otherwise, we'll be getting them this fall.

the only thing worse than the coach being angry is the wife....coaches extract a heavy penalty for embarrasment. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng practices...start runnin boys

For every incident, the entire TEAM needs to pay in practice. This way, the 90% of players doing the right thing will have an incentive to sanction the other 10%.

Hire me now! :p

For those who are old enough they can remember when UT went thru a few years under Majors when the football team went thru worst stuff. This all runs in cycles and soon enough somebody else will be having these problems.
