For those who are old enough they can remember when UT went thru a few years under Majors when the football team went thru worst stuff. This all runs in cycles and soon enough somebody else will be having these problems.

Call me a fuddy duddy, stick in the mud or whatever but it doesn't make me feel any better to think that other programs (e.g. Oregon St.) will all go through this. That doesn't excuse what is clearly a problem. Many here feel that ESPN has it out for UT. Fine but there would be no story if we didn't have a problem. What has happened over the last few years (going back to Kelly Washington) is a pattern of a team that has repeatedly had problems on and off the field - moreso than virtually any other team. I am a fan of Fulmer but this is not only embarrassing but also disturbing. It is wishful thinking to expect that this is just the way it happens. Success on and off the field is not something that just happens. It is incredibly hard work. Fulmer now needs to work on the missing piece over the last few years: a unified sense of purpose that supercedes personal goals. A team philosophy.

I agree with you Fuddy Duddy!

I am truly humbled :p

Now I have to go shake my fist at some teen hooligans riding their bikes by my house; flaunting their youth. :p

You do realize there is a lot worse stuff going on w/ college FB players than what is happening @ UT? I live in Phoenix and an ASU player just shot another one over a girl! This is after the coach had been repeatedly warned about the player. At least ours are just basic fistfights and not crossing those lines. I know if seems bad but it could be much, much worse. Not trying to justify their actions, but I just see both programs up close.

Punching someone is crossing the line
Getting arrested is crossing the line.

And one in Corvallis just stole a gay sheep while intoxicated.

I guess it won't do any good for my rep around here that I'm going to apply for Arizona State next school year...

Location. I have family in Arizona and Southern California, I hear Phoenix is a great city, and Arizona State is a decent school. We can pick up this convo in the Pub, if you'd like.

while I appreciate all the suggestions - I was just making that part of my post up.

If you saw "Crank Yankers" there was an old guy complaining about kids "laughing and playing" "flaunting their youth".

For every incident, the entire TEAM needs to pay in practice. This way, the 90% of players doing the right thing will have an incentive to sanction the other 10%.

Hire me now! :p

Don't you think some of the problems started when the NCAA stop letting the schools have dorms just for team members(of all sports). When these were allowed years ago they had a dorm director that was part of the coaching staff and the kids had curfews. Maybe that's harsh, but parents would probably appreciate it instead of their child getting in trouble and maybe throwing away a very big career. Taking the restrictions away has pretty much tied the hands of the coaches. What can they do? If they are too harsh they could hurt the kid for life, but if too weak they catch a lot of flack from other schools. I remember when Gene Stallings gave David Palmer another chance, and he even messed that up, and Stallings gave him one more............Palmer straightened himself out, and ended up with a great career.

good i dont need anymore bammer in my diet...

So, sorry, I did not realize this forum was just for Tenn. fans. I thought it was for people to discuss what is going on with sports, and especially in the SEC. I have never come on this board and had anything bad to say about the Vols. I am a Bama fan, and proud of it, but I do respect other schools and their programs. I want to beat Tenn, but hell I want to beat everyone, but that doesn't mean that I disagree with everything a Vol fan says simply because of where his loyalties lie.
