This Kentucky team could...

...when's it not been, especially recently, though? Vanderbilt has more recently even been less of a deadweight (2012, 2013 were 9-win seasons, plus another bowl in 2011...and one 2008 I think?) than UK in football.

Ha true. Shocking but true.

KY should keep Stoops, regardless of record. Unless they are 99% certain they can make a splash hire. Brings up the question...what would be considered a "splash hire" for KY?

I don't think we've ever NOT been dead weight...

1950 and 1976...with possibly 2007 also (and maybe 2008 deserves at least some positive mention for at least losing a lot of their big games by close scores...though they finished better in conference in 2006)

But that's about it...even with Tim Couch they only saw about 7-5 and 6-6 seasons (which, if modified for the 12th game against an FCS opponent everyone now plays on their schedule, would have been 8-5 and 7-6 seasons).

I never started talking about Cal until he was brought up and then you interjected with the "really" comment.

Our AD handed out an extension to a coach who was 5-2 I believe, and had just played against the #1 team in the nation, and only lost by 14. Along with being a razors edge from beating UF, at UF. Stoops had recruited better than UK ever saw. The program was being supported by the school like never before. So I don't necessarily believe our AD was idiot for offering an extension...Hindsight it looks way worse though. And I can't really disagree that it was too soon and far too much. But had we finished with 6 or 7 wins, and continued momentum into 2015, we'd be talking about something else.

You concern me.

I have said this a few times . If Kentucky ran a option style offense then I believe they could be a 6 win team every so many years

They need to go back to the old schedule were they played 5 cupcakes to start the season and all the KY boys got excited to be 5-0.
Then the real season began, only to finish 6-6 or 5-7

I care nothing about Cal. The fact that you would support hiring Briles is lunacy.

You can say what you want, id take briles over butch in a millisecond, atleast you know we are gonna air it out, and be exciting on offense, and he wont be robotic like butch and the playcalling wont be boring as the lump of lard with a headset debord, im sure briles learned his lesson, and whoever hire him will be watching him closely, and have a hell of a coach.
