This Win is On The Coaching Staff

This coaching staff won this game for us. They made good decisions pretty much all game. The scheme worked very well. Heupel is one of the best head coaches Tennessee has ever had, if not the best, and I'm extremely thankful for him.

He is a keeper!
53 yard field goal attempt was a stretch.

I can't get over how improved our defense is over last year. Especially the secondary and stopping the automatic 1st down passes we saw all last year.
So true. And for me, the most exciting thing about it is: If the defense can make a turnaround like this from one season to the next, then so can our offense. It can happen quickly, guys! This may not be the high flying offense we all wanted to see as fans this season, but damn if this team isn’t still getting the job done. It will turn around. And when it does, it may be just as quickly as the defense…..and be equally as savage!

It wasn't pretty in the first half, but Nico getting decked seemed to help wake everyone up somehow!
That was definitely a turning point..!
I wasn’t too happy with the first half of the game until it dawned on me that our defense has held Bama to a single TD..! 😁
IT’S BAMA..! ( last week, same kind of win… “ not pretty “, but IT’S FLORIDA).
At this point in he program I’m happy to get the W’s any way they come with those two.
GBO..!!

Because he was coaching like Butch Jones. Heupel sucked for the first half. But he made adjustments and redeemed himself.

I mean really? Are you that dumb or just pretending? You posts suggest you are but want to give you the benefit of the doubt.

For all those "it's Heupel's system...teams have figured it out" We have WRs running open on almost every play and Nico WILL start to hit more as he settles down from a really tough stretch of SEC games and guess what, we came out of those 3&1 and still in top 10! So settle the F down!

The play calling, for the most part, has been good.

The issue was execution.

Great win
Disagree there. I haven't seen one designed run for Nico the past 3 games, even though he is a dual threat QB. Too many runs up the middle that basically require us to knock them off the ball. The shuffle pass worked great for us at OU. Haven't seen it since. WTH -- you have a winning play and shelve it

By no means has it been perfect, but I think we can agree execution has been horrible. So many points left on the field.

It doesn't look like much but they start to wear on a team. They could get a little more creative but if it ain't broke, well.
That's a dangerous gamble. You're not wearing down their defense when you are 3 and out. I was not impressed with this first half or the last two either. We don't get to the playoffs without scoring early.

The 2nd week in a row the first offensive possessions, which are usually scripted beforehand by the coaches, looked good and had the offense clicking until the fumbles. Most of the passing plays in the game had receivers open, which allows for completions with execution.

Wasn't saying it was the answer, doesn't seem like they're going to change it at this point.. Most consistent thing they do..
