This Year is just not ours.

Making the NIT in modern day college basketball could never be considered a success. This is not 1978. Every one that has a pulse gets in.

I'll take it. It means a winning record and finishing in the top third of all NCAA teams. That after losing 6 of the first 7 players from the previous year and 6 of the 10 regular players in the rotation this year being freshmen. If the NIT is the floor in a down cycle, that's being pretty successful.

Probably not, but they sure worked a lot harder than us on the boards and managed to stay in a game where they shot the ball poorly on the road in a place where we recently went two calendar years without losing.
They certainly played a lot more physical and somehow shot double the free throws.

Does take us out of the in with 18 scenario. Win out or 8 of 11 and we could still make it. That was a q3 loss. KY has a q4.

Yeah, I'm not ready to write off their at-large chances if the Vols can win on the road in Starkville and Tuscaloosa.

Pons needs to play like he did against Kansas. If he can consistently give the team that kind of effort they would be a lot better off. They need him to be the "guy" and take over a game when the team is in dire need of points.

Yeah we’re putting most of our hope of a really good year next year on a bunch of incoming freshman.. that usually works out so well:)
Yeah, just look at JJJ; we always seem to be disappointed. Remember Roth, Yarbough, Hopson, Smith, Hubbs.

I thought we were coming around, but tonight I'm extremely disappointed in the team. There's no excuse for this performance.
Team had to have that for momentum to make bid a possibility. Hope came out the balloon last night..Ugh

I am kinda questioning the play calling to. Like last week it seemed we go inside to pons and fulky. This game we throw up bombs.
Tried but couldn't get the ball inside. They had us sealed off completely. You take what you can as the defense allows. It's not a matter of not wanting to go inside.

Barnes will tell you that the Big Dance is their goal every year, and if they don't achieve that, then they failed in reaching their objective. Reality will generally win out, as we lost so much and have so much youth, that sometimes we're just not going to dance,
